Car: RC10L
ESC: Novak Duster
Radio: JR Python

Ok, I recently pulled this car out of the closet and tried to get it running again. I bought a cheap charger and battery from Tower Hobbies and hooked it up. It runs but there seems to be some radio interference (the servor jerks left to right slightly and the throttle is a bit jerky when at full speed). Here are my questions.....

1) The motor is OLD. If I buy a new motor and install some capacitors on it will this help the interference. Also, I read that installing the the ESC on a graphite chassis also causes interference, is this true?

2) I bought this car second-hand a long time ago and I am sure that he made a lot of custom adjustments. I am not even sure if it's an RC10L but I believe that is what it is (I know it's an associated on-road car and it's rather old so I am assuming it is a RC10L but I can't find the box).

I need some tires for it BAD but I have no idea which ones will fit. I will primarily be using it on pavement so I need rubber and not foam. I measured the width of the bearings and they are about 5/16 of an inch. Any suggestions on tires??

3) The antenna on the JR radio is snapped. I took the radio apart and removed the broken antenna. Where can I get a new one for a JR Python?

Thanks for any and all responses. I would like to get this car running good soon!

1) Yes, a new motor will certainly help interference. Make you you have the proper capacitors on it. The receiver on the graphite chassis will cause interference more than the ESC. Try using 2-3 pieces of servo tape to mount the REC, and keep the antenna from touching the graphite chassis.

2) For the RC10L, you need to use specific wheels and tires. Associated, Jaco, and TRC sell mounted foam tires. The rear wheels have a big opening in the center and 4 holes for mounting screws. Get some green compound tires to start.

3) Your local hobby shop should have some antennas that fit. If not, Horizon Hobby carries JR parts.

Thanks for your help. I think I found a hobby shop a couple of hours from here (myrtle beach, SC) that will give me some help. It sucks not having a good hobby shop near me.
