After getting tired of the nitro power, I've decided to have some fun instead of stess and go electric. I am not a newb, or at least I know as much as some veteran racers do. Anywho, I am interested in getting a Team Losi XXX-T. My questions are; how fast are 19 turns? How low of a turn moter should I go for off-road? I am thinking about 14-15 or so turns. Another thing, does JR Racing carry a synthesized reciever that I can buy seperatly? Does the XXX-T come in, with out radio, but pre-built form? Is this a good car? Can I get some pics of it's chassy with info( here are the --- and to the right of that...) explaining them? Sorry for asking so much!!:o

okay here we go.
19 turn motors will propel that xxx-t pretty good, but since you are experienced with nitro you will want something with more kick than that (trust me!).
For the xxx-t, you can go as low as you want as long as you can drive it and keep it in line. I would not go any lower than 12 or 11 turns for that xxx-t though. 11 turns will give you a good 45-50 mph, and for an off road track, that is insane! 14 or 15 turns will be perfect with your experience.
JR builds an entire synthesized system called the XS3, and they sell seperately the receiver that goes with it. Check with your LHS for it.
If you want the xxx-t without a radio, then you will have to buy it in kit form(I 'm pretty sure of this). But why not enjoy the fun of building a kit. You'll learn so much from doing it. From what I have heard, it is a great truck. Comparable to the associated T3. Sorry I don't have any pictures of it.

Okay, so with the 19 turn, it shuld go... Maybe 25? The V3 ESC on there handle down to? Around 14 turns? And a big question, how long will run time be with a 3000 MAH battery? And that leads to, is the Venom Racing 3000 NIMH very good? It's $40, and so that's a bonus to me. The charger will be a MRC Super Brain? Is that good? And how long is it take to charge a 3000MAH battery at MRC's top amp; 5 amps? Sorry for being a newb!:o

PTheDevil,
On-road is a completely different spectrum in electric. With an 11 turn motor you wont get as much with that xxxs as you would with an off road truck. This is because of the 4wd system, it just takes more juice. Most serious touring guys go with 9 turns or 8 turns (I'm serious!) That will get 50+ out of the xxxs.
RTR3 DUDE,
Any 3000 nimh battery under $60 sounds like a deal to me!! I've paid up to $95 for my batts! MRC's super brain should be fine. Iheard that charger packs a lot of good features for the price, so good choice there. At five amps with a 3000nimh pack you should be looking at about 20-30-35 minutes at the most. These things charge batteries pretty quick. You can also boost (peak) the batteries if you want to.

I still wonder, what would the approx. run time be? And if I'm a once a week racer, do I need more than one battery? And this guy at the hobby shop told me to NEVER run a batterery till it's dead because it's too bad for the motor:rolleyes: So if I have to let it cool down for 30? Why would I need 2 battery's? Racing must be boring if you sit for 30 min for your battery to charge and you only get 10 min out of a 3000 MAH!:(

Electric racing is 5 minutes.
Believe me, it isn't boring, the wait is worth it, and at a race meeting you need to clean and check the car between runs anyway.
2 packs at least is what you'd need at most meetings
And super cheap cells may not the the RC cells made by Sanyo, GP or panasonic, but cheaper ones for less power-critical applications.

Too answer the question about JR Receivers. Yes there is the JR RS300 Synthesized FM 3-channel Receiver. Follow the link.

BTW that Receiver is included in the XS3 Synthesized Radio Kit. I just bought one (link below) and I love it.

Will 1500mah battery with a stock motor consistently last me 5 minutes?

GM V3R is good down to 15 turns, according to Xtreme RC Cars. one of the latest issues, if not the most recent one, jhas a review of the XXX-T. they liked it :) .
Oh yeah, I am also a nitro guy looking to go electric. I'm planning to pick up a XXX-4 and run an 11 or 12 turn in it, once I sell my NMT (anyone interested? lol)

Venom packs are crap. At pro-match, you can get matched 3300 packs for less then that POS unmatched, low quality, 3000 mah venom pack
