Hey guys,
I'm interested in buying a new car. I've already got an offroad machine, so I don't have to get another one. So I was thinking about getting an onroad car for when it either A.) rains or B.) my offroad car is in need of a part. You see, when it rains, the soil doesn't get very, uhhh.... shall I say happy? So I'm out of comission for offroading, but I still want to drive my car. Now you see if I get a micro, I can still have fun while my car in sitting on the workbench, because it doesn't neccisarily have to run outside. I could just as easily have some fun driving a micro in my garage. So should I get one? They seem really cool beacuse they run for like 40 min. with the stock motor and they still go fast (as I've heard). Also the hop-ups are dirt cheap and there are millions of them. So should I get one?
Thanks for your help.

They do go pretty fast, and they are cool, but their size makes them kind of 'tweeners'. They are too big and powerful to run inside most houses, and they need a smoother surface than big cars to run on outside. If you have a smooth area, like a driveway or a big basement or garage floor, then they are great. If you want something for running on the street or in the living room, not so great.

For outdoors, get larger car, like a touring car. The Tamiya Mini-size cars are really cool, slightly smaller than 1/10th and just as fast. For indoors, consider a Mini-Z or Mini-X or something.

yeah I was thinking about the terrain its gonna be running on. I've got a 2 door garage (not the biggest), but I also live right next to a school with a freshly paved parking lot (huge). Scince they run for about a half hour, I think it would be worth it to go up there and run occasionally. I also got a kitchen (but its not that big).
Now I wish I had hardwood floors all over the pace in my house.

I don't have one myself, but two of my friends have them, and I must say I was impressed. It's definately a worthy investment if you're just looking to mess around some with it. I am looking into buying one soon (well.. soon= whenever I get enough cash:( ) because our local shop holds races every two weeks! So yea, I would say get one for those rainy days. If you want to find out a little more about it from people who own them, check out www.yourmicro.com . You might want to check out the forums there, or just browse the site :) .

I have one but there is basically no where to race them anywhere remotely near me :(. There are occasional races at SoCal raceway form Micro RS4's and Mini-z's but I never seem to remember to bring my Micro when they are racing them :(. Oh well its just as well cause my micro would get beaten so bad by them.

hey trxstr, do you have wood or carpet? If you have carpet, then what kind of carpet do you have? Do you have that hard stuff they put in carpet gym's and carpet tracks? Or do you have shag or something alond those lines? I'm not exactly sure what I have, but I know its not berber, that warehouse carpet, or anything ridiculous (like that wierd fur carpet). It plain old carpet.

i have a micro rs-4..... it totally rocks... and it's a tank... very hard to break...

they are best when driving in about a 10' x 15' area.... and really at their best when you have a couple buddies driving micro's with you...

and they can fairly easily be made about as fast as a stock motored touring car... (pop in a Speed 300/Orion Big Block and 6 cell pack)...

start up cost is very low on them as well... definatley the best bang for the buck on the market as far as cars go...

great car.... i've had more real "fun" with my micro than any other car...

peace out..... :)

oh I also forgot,
if the micro will not run on the freshly paved parking lot, there's also a carpet gym that nobody cares about at my school (you know the one right next to me). So if they leave the doors open (not literally, but not locked) during spring break or something else, I could always run there. There's really nothing of value that can be easily stolen (easily as in, take the object, not take out the industrial fan on the wall.). Everything that's of value is in the storage room, which has a lock on it, so.......
Well I hope they keep the door open, because its got that hard 1mm thick carpet in there.
