A 64 tooth spur will smothen out your bottom end a little. I presonaly run a 63/15 in my gt and think it handles great, plus I have just a touch more top speed than the guys runnun stock gears. The ratios work out to; 4.2 for the 63/15 vrs. 4.4 for the 66/15. on a long straight, that can mean victory :D

Hey, Im looking for a good a around type of tire for my gt. I have dirt hawg 2's on my xxt and they have worked pretty good but I dont want to get the same tires for my gt. I was thinking about the pro-line dirt works, they look like they should be good but I would like some other opinions.
Thanks

Dynamite "ultra-start"
Are the 7.2 packs hooked up in series or parallel? The one I recieved had been modified to hook directly to a car battery. The other option is to use a 12 volt gell cell (what amp?) that would fit inside the starte box.
Thanks

Correct Mark,
That is why when i ran my 54/24 gear combo it took awhile to get up to speed but when it did it flew i think my uncle clocked it in a like 47.23 mph (he can do that cause he has a radar gun since he is a cop.) But when i race i run a 66/18 set up. Anyway i can't run today because it is pooring rain here. :(
i just put my mip lightoutdrives on and i can really tell the difference..

Richies I think you got it all backwards.
A bigger spur smaller pinion will give you more bottom end. (Acceleration)
A smaller spur and larger pinion will give you more top end (High Speed, Low Accel)
If you are spinning your tires when you start, first try better tires, second, get a smaller spur gear and a larger pinion gear.

i was making stuff with my dremel and a found a way to lower the center of gravity on my gt i put a little 2 mm think plate under the rear arm mounts you have to grind your arm mounts down so the out drive hubs dont hit and so the spur gear dont hit but it work and i did notice some difference at the track yesterday

well mark thats what i thought would happen with a smaller spur but the guys at the LHS say its the other way around.i know on my car if i run a 205/60/r15 tire on the back it gears the car lower and if i run 235/65/r15 tires i cant do burnouts or chirp second gear cause it gears it higher

Tyco, if you had enough engine the truck would hit about 73 mph, and thats not taking ballooning into account. Like you said though you only hit 43 mph since the engine wasn't powerful enough to pull that. I ran a 22/56 in my GT when I had a 12 CV and it barely pulled the truck. Heck it had trouble climbing hills but once it got going, look out. I still want to try this with my 12 CV-R now.

RTR GT nightmare
problem over problem. now it's my pull start that keeps on getting stuck. So I have to rebuild it (rewind it and reasemble it). It's been almost two summers now and I haven't even gone threw a gallon of fuel. I did everything right, from taking advice from my LHS putting all the hopups possible on it. An dI didn't even get two hours running time all together on the thing. What the **** is the probleme?? This is one expensive hobby. Can Some one please help me out for the pull start on how to fix the things. Sorry for all the winning, I feel alot better know

07-18-2001, 08:28 PM
Okay, since yall were wrapped up in the gearing thing for a minute, I'll answer the other Q's.
Slow One, I think that the "S" means that the MT12 has an SG crank, so you can't use it.
Elfn1, use one of the 12v gel cells, instead pf worrying about the 7.2 volt batteries.
Magoo, how does the p/s "stick?" Buy a bump start or a starte box. You won't need to use so much Tylenol every day with one of those.

Mangoo putting every possible upgrade on the truck isn't always the best thing to do. It is for the hobby shop because your buying parts from them.
I have the RTR and I have it upgraded to FT standards and I run a CV-R. I have had absolutely no problems with this truck accept for the ones cause by my own neglagence.
The hobby can get expensive but it is really fun and I personally think it is worth it.
Pull starters will rip up strings, it happens and always will, no matter who makes the pull starter. I had that problem and I bought a starter box, problem solved.
As for your other problems, they are your own fault. The RTR didn't come broken and if it did and your tried to run it anyway, well...
Everything goes together a certain way, and no matter how confidant you are, always check your work against the manual. This way your 100% correct and you dont have to be pressured to buy other parts from the hobby shop.
Take a break from the truck. Get it running again and let it sit for a couple days. Start it up, go play with it and get it tuned right and have some fun. Something breaks, replace it and leave it for a day. If you constantly play with it and constantly break stuff it will get annoying.

07-19-2001, 12:27 AM
Yeah, the picco pulls 4-6,000 more RPM's than the CV-R. I love my new engine, an probably would take it over the OS, just because it fits my driving style really well.
Magoo, tear down the entire truck. I mean down to the last screw. Then rebuild it reading only the manual. try to look at the pictures as little as possible. (You already know what the truck looks like, so you should really need to look them anyway.) This is what I did when I ran into a long string of broken parts. After the truck was rebuilt, I didn't break a part for weaks. Like Mark said, it's neglagence that causes things to break. Take 15 minutes aside before you drive your GT, and make sure the screws are tight, there are freshly charged batts where needed, that the fuel lines are good and not more than 2 weeks old at the most, etc. Clean your air filter every five runs or so, and lastly, watch how the truck is performing for the first 10 minutes or so of your day. I know this sounds like a lot, but you'll spend less money, and have more fun in the long run.

well my pullstarter on my cv-rx broke and the bearing that was on it i have many drill atachments so i found a socket that can be used with a drill bit that the bearing could fit into and i put the drill bit on a drill and put the bearing on the crank shaft seeing as now it sticks out of the back and set the drill so it spins clockwise and then put the drill bit/socket so that the bearing was completly inside the drill bit but so that it was still on the cranksshaft and pressed the trigger on my drill and it starts but after it starts make sure that you take the bearing off. So it is kinda like the HG easy start...

Yeah, I have a pair of velocities, and they are really solid. I stripped out the inside of one of my AE wheels, so I decided to try the velocities, and so far they are doing well - wish I could say the same for the foam inserts. Putting the wheel nuts on is easier with the dishes though.

I think that u need a starter box. Best investment I ever made. As far the 50 mph gt, what size pinion and spur are you running that you got that speed.
You can only fit a total of 86 teeth on a gt, between the 2 gears and todd did just that and got less than 45mph.

I haven't touched my GT in over a month now... sad, isn't it?
I do have an excuse however, and THIS (http://www.jimdyerchevyclassics.com/stuff/engine/assembly3.jpg) is the reason why... I posted it a few pages back. It's finally finished and installed. Dynoed at 470hp, but I found out after it was off the dyno that it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too rich, so now that it's tuned it's probably closer to 500hp. Now I can get to the track with my GT in half the time :D
By the way... I am working on a graphite laminated aluminum chassis for my GT. I chem-milled the stock chassis down to half thickness and will be laminating it with 4 plies of M55 carbon fiber (2 plies top, 2 bottom) held to the chassis with film adhesive, which will put it back to about the same thickness as the chassis was stock. I don't know how well it will work, but it will certainly look cool. :) I'm waiting for some carbon prepreg and film adhesive scrap to proceed, should have it in a month or so.

Mark I was using a 22 tooth clutch bell and a 56 tooth spur gear. It is still possible to go higher with a 24 tooth clutch bell and a 54 tooth spur gear. I did the math for the 24/54 and it tops out at 73 or so. But thats also assuming the 12 CV-R is at maximum RPMs (36k).
I just put in 30k because thats reasonable and that is saying 60 mph.

You really dont NEED to convert anything on your motor to use a starter box. I ran my associated pullstart motor on a starter box.
If your pull starter keeps binding up, check the cord, if it is frayed it wont pull right or not at all, and eventually break.
Replacing pull starters cost 20 bucks each time, and a pull starter doesn't last forever, no matter what. Save the time and money and buy a starter box. Leave the pull starter on for convience. Being it isn't used as a primary starter (the pull) it will last longer.

I haven't done too much to my GT. It's a Factory Team (now you know why I didn't add much). My few things are:
-Picco .12 R/C Speed engine. I might be trading this engine back to my friend since the manifold cracked, and they aren't instock ~~anywhere~~. It's the picco exhaust.
-If the trade happens I'll have my old engine which is an OS CV-X with a team integy head and the duratrax piston/sleeve conversion.
-MIP 4n1 clutch
-HG aluminum idler and diff gears
-HG titanium topshaft
EDIT: I also added RPM ball cups.
-Stripped the ano off the chassis with Easy Off oven cleaner. That stuff is very strong - I almost passed out from the fumes when I was outside.
That's it. The FTGT had everything I needed and more.

THROTTLE RETURN SPRING IS A MUST!!!!!!
DONT EVER RUN WITHOUT ONE!!!!!!!! :)
I put about 200 bucks into parts the other day just replacing misc stuff and getting some spare parts. I took it out, fixed my carb leak (wasn't gas tank in the first place :( ) I tuned it all up and had it running fast as **** when my reciever pack fell of cause the zip ties broke rubbing on the ground. It decided to stay full throttle and it hauls *** down the street wide open throttle until my nieghbor about 20 houses down stepped on it. It stood there WOT until I could run down to shut it off. I think my clutch melted, cause it wasn't moving but it was WOT. The diff seems fine and I know it wont melt, I just put a metal one in.
Moral of this story, run a throttle return spring and save your self from a heart attack.

From what I've heard the boost bottles don't do jack and they are more for looks than performance; especially in smallblock engines. That buttsink is just like the heatsink on the engine except it replaces the backplate. Its just supposed to help cool the crankcase some more.

07-21-2001, 08:32 PM
The buttsink I dont see why it wont work. For a boost bottle to work it would have to be almost the size of the motor itself. Some people say in the .21's it makes a difference though.

Heres my GT. I've posted it before but I'll do it again just to jump on the band wagon.
It started as a Team GT with the tub chassis in the Fall of 1999. Its almost 100% Factory Team. It just needs the unobtanium shock shafts and graphite shock towers.
The GT is powered by a 12 CV-R and is controlled by a 2 PCKA (soon to be replaced by a 3 PDF). I'm using a Hitec HS-615MG steering servo.
Here it is earlier today; nice and clean.

I own the Hammad Ghuman rear aluminum bulkhead. I like it because the two screws that mount the bulkhead won't loosen when loctite is used. My original plastic one would constantly loosen and oval out the countersunk chassis holes. I also have the HG aluminum rear suspension arm mounts due to the same issue.
The only problem I have noticed is that the standard shock towers break more often because the bulkhead is now so stiff (a also have an aluminum chassis brace). I do not have any experience with GPM products but I hope this helps anyway. :)

Ya I had a bad day with my gt yesterday. I was tuning the engine in my back yard and I turned around and pulled the trigger. The engine when wot but it did not move and it stayed wot so I got worried and ran over to try and shut the engine off. I tried to plug the pipe to shut it off but the pipe was too hot and I could not reach the fuel tubing because the bodie was on. So I flipped the truck over and stepped on the flywheel and was finally able to shut the engine off. It turns out that the wire from the reciever batts got caught in the spure gear and got cut leaving my truck at wot and the fule tubing that I had the wire in to protect it got jambed in the spure gear and thats why the truck was not moving at wot.
So the only damage is the wire and a spure gear. My truck was only at wot for at most 20 seconds so I think everything else is ok. I was even running a fail safe but since it lost batt power it did not work so it looks like I will have to get a throttle return spring soon.

Sorry I haven't been around the forum too much lately, I've been buried at work, and by the time I get home I just want to go to sleep, so I usually just skip the "check the forum" routine.
Since the aluminum bulkhead question was asked: I run an HG bulkhead and like it much better than stock-- I also had problems with the stock bulkhead loosening. As for GPM, my personal opinion is that you pass them by. I bought a few GPM parts and was not at all impressed by the quality. Sure they looked nice, but they seemed to be made from a very low grade of aluminum, nowhere near the quality of the HG stuff. The GPM stuff did look pretty though...

Skateboarder, I'm thinking about getting into skateboarding. What do you ride? I'm going to buy a Black Label deck, Shorty's Black Panther Bearings, Monster Trucks, Shorty's Black magic grip tape, and some generic wheels. Think it's a good setup? I'll need like a 9-10 ply board, since I'm about 205 pounds.

here is my thought's on alumnium bulk heads, i did run the GPM back in the fall, that one started cracking near the mounting holes, some where around the winter i picked up the hamman, its much better, much liter, and better looking...i did how ever bend it...but thats me. Im still using the HG bulk because it is as light as stock and a bagilion times stronger. as for the trucks, nice guys!!!
Edit-Gokuo, those arent bad jumps! this is the first time im seeing them, i was away when you posted the first time, That engine really hauls, would defetly blow away my CV-r..but i think there a prob, im not getting any power out of it..o well... i gatta get my GT ready for the race tommrow morning.

Gokou, I might as well buy a go-ped if I was going to put an engine on the thing. I'll keep it off so I can do tricks and bust my arse. Go-peds aren't that great, but I do drive my friend's ThunderFart a lot. My other friend's four wheeler is better than that, but the GT beats both of them. Sorry for derailing.
Gede RTR, as I said before, most of the people that I talked to didn't like them, so they switched back to their regular pistons.
Everyone is making my GT sound like a peice of poo. You list all those hopups, but I had most of them from the beginning. Maybe I'll list all the FT hopups ;).

Rc10GTMAN.. Thats a great set up, but one thing to know is that most of the time the no name blank boards are just as good as the ones that are al painted up nicely. The only thing is that you dont have a name brand board.
Like I have a inferno board, its a deck from a skateshop and it works great and is lasting pretty good.
Skateboarding is fun but its a sport that you really get beat up in. Both my ankles are pretty messed up, I have to wear a special brace on my right ankle anythinme I skate or do anything that could be painfull. And because of that I dont skate too much anymore but its still great fun.

Just a little something I learned yesterday, I was racing my GT and in the first heat, the truck would stay at WOT once I gave it full throttle for a couple seconds. Fortunately, it would also turn the wheels all the way in one direction so it would do donuts or flip over. Anyways, I couldn't figure out what it was and wound up buying two brand new servos, the reciever is new as well, and it still didn't solve the problem. I also replaced the extension to the battery and it still didn't fix it. I finally figured out that my battery pack which is the one that comes with the JR XR3 where you just put 4 AA's in it, had so much electric tape holding the batteries in, that the tape would hold the batteries in place and keep them from getting a good connection when there was a lot of vibration from the engine. I took all the electric tape off and instead wrapped a couple zip ties around them so the batteries could slide in there and the problem was solved! I never thought this could happen, but at least I have two spare servos now! Just thought I'd share this for anybody else who might have their batteries wrapped up in electric tape or any kind of tape! Matt

Nice trucks.
420, do what was already stated. Check your gaskets o rings, etc. If they are old, then you probably need to replace them. To keep the high speed needle from moving, tighten down the metal boot that goes around it.
Magoo, if you're bashing, you should try out the OS CV line. They are great engines that don't give you any fuss. They have about the same power as the AE engine. Rotary carbs are better for offroad. They soften the low end throttle response a bit, so your tires can dig in before the power really comes on. Slide carbs put power to the wheels right away, but you'll have less traction, and more wheelspin.

I was a dumbass. I was trying to take the nut on the side by the high speed needle off, so I put a rag around the carb and grabbed onto it with a pair of pliers. The pliers slipped and crushed the throat of the carb so now it wont fit inside the opening on the crank case. Even if it would fit, it would leak.
If anyone has a 10er carb, or better yet a good associated .15 carb (no leaks) ill trade for it. I have misc GT and tmaxx parts and a bunch of computer stuff.

Get a nitro starter kit, like fuel bottle and glow ignitor and all that happy stuff. You might also want to look into a high quality servo for your brake and throttle.
A starter box is also a definate plus.
As for the carb thing, yea I goofed up, oh well. I think trxboy is gonna help me out. (thanks alot).
I could change the internals to a different carb body, but then I gotta find a carb body, it would be easier to find the entire carb, plus ill have spare needles and stuff incase I goof up again. As for trying to repair that carb, it would be hard. Part of the throat actually broke off so I cant clamp it down in the motor, it wont stay put, I already tried, it vibrated off.

sorry for your lost there mark. Bummer!
I had a dirt bike stolen about 3 years ago. I report it to the county sheriff but he didn't put it their computers. You ask how do I know well 6months later I saw it the back of this guy going down main street. I did me a big U-turn and ran him down notifilying the police at the sametime, They said that it wasn't in there computer, so i had them call the sheriff, he apologized for not putting it in the computer. But if hadn't been going down the street and seen it they sure wouldn't have got it back for me.

I would have ran the guy over then took my bike back and leave him for dead. Who ever has my bike better how the cops find them before I do.
Could you guys do me a favor and kinda spread the word im selling my GT. Anyone know anybody that one? Im adding EVERYTHING I have for it minus my tools. You can literally take it out of the box and start it up, everything is included.

LOL TRX. I was driving in this parking lot with some people. We had 4 cones set up and you had to go around them.
Anyways this one guy had a B3. He thought he was all bad. At 1/2 throttle my NDS was easily keeping up with him but he kept swerving to keep me from passing. Finally I went to the outside and he tried to shut the door. Too late. He ramed my side. The NDS kept right on going straight while the B3 cartwheeled down the back stretch. It was so funny. Jerk scuffed my body......but I scuffed his pride. :D

Well im gonna let my forsale add sit one more day here, until tomarrow when I wake up and if I dont get an offer im not gonna sell it, my friend is gonna spot me the money.
My deadline is next friday. I really dont wanna sell it so im thinking ill just keep it and pay off my friend. Since I just got my new paintbal gun at cost, thanks to a friend, I can sell it at retail price online and payback my friend and have enough money to buy the gun back, at cost from the same friend. 1200 dollar retail, i can buy it for 5, and sell it for 1100 NIB.

The NDS is a pretty sweet car. Due to the old GT chassis though if you want to put any more than a CV in you'll need a brace. I've had not problems with it. My version though is the Sport version which includes a slipper clutch, rubber tires, and aluminium shocks.

Has anyone used the Hammad Ghuman Front and Rear shock towers for the GT? I just bought them. They look like they are a going to be a super strong quality hop up, but I am a little dissappointed. The shock mounting holes are different than stock. I knew this when I bought them, but I did not realize how much different the rear one was. The standard tower has two groups of holes, the outer/upper holes (used most often) and the inner/lower holes (I have never used these). The Hammad Ghuman tower only has one grouping of holes located approximately where the original tower's inner/lower holes are and not the more commonly used outer/upper! I have not driven the truck yet since I am still rebuilding it, but I was wondering if anyone has experience with this tower and if anyone races with it. I assume that most people do not race with it due to the extra weight, but I was tired of breaking the standard and graphite towers after adding my aluminum bulkhead. Any comments?

I personally like the AE ones because they are blue but the Lundsfords are guaranteed for life. You break it; they'll give you a new one.
The bearings probably exploded because they needed cleaned and the grit finally wore them down. Its also possible they just wore out. I've had this happen a few times. If your idle is set too high this can also cause bearings to blow. See if the car is sitting there and the engine is spinning fast, then the bearings have to spin. Once the clutch engauges though and the car is moving the bearings don't have to spin as much since everything is spinning with the engine.
Make sure you replace the clutch bearings with high quality ones since they are under stress. Quality as in not Duratrax or any similar company.
TRX, lol did you land it?

Yeah, that was the only good one i got, the BMX dirt ramps got plowed down so me and my friends had to go make some new ones tommrow(Stupid town) but o well, didnt really wanna jump it that high considering the soft spring, 30 wt oil setup.
RC10GTMark
07-28-2001, 05:52 PM
What clutch are you running? If your running the MIP clutch you have to sand down the front face of the clutch to make it fit in the RTR clutch bell. Also if you dont not have your clutchbell shimmed properly it will rub in spots and create extra heat.
Nick, that is on insane jump, jesus. Did you break anything hittin a jump like that? Good thing I didn't sell my GT, I would be pretty mad seeing that jump and not being able to go out and do the same.
BTW, incase anyone was curious, I got my motorcycle back but the *** who stole it realized there is no way to start it without the key, the computer just wont fire over. So he started to take some of the parts off to sell it, and he took my exhast to the dealership I bought it at, and they realized who's it was and called the cops. They dumped the bike over once, and scratched up the side, and took my exhaust off. Insurance will pay for the new side ferring and the dealer gave me my exhaust back. Wish the cops would let that little *** go, so I could get ahold of him...

Mark... they took your 929? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
That really ***** . My 600F3 is long gone (I brought this up about 20 pages ago, it's been several months now). No word on it. I've given up. If they find it now, it'll probably be just a frame. At least you got yours back, but that really ***** they scratched the frame up. That was some nice polishing work. At least they didn't ride it and thrash it. Good job for your dealer spotting your exhaust. Remember to check that sucker over THROUGHLY before you go to ride it-- who knows what they tried to take off and left loose.
RC10GTMark
07-28-2001, 07:59 PM
The dealer has it. They are gonna go through it. Luckily, they really didn't scratch up the frame, couple hair line scratches. The right side ferring was pretty scuffed up though.
I know one thing im doing, besides going hunting for a bike theif, is get better insurance. Man I dont pay much for insurance, but they were barely gonna give me my **** back, luckily it was found.
They weren't going to pay for any of my upgrades, just gemma a stock motorcycle back. I have upgrade coverage, but they wouldn't cover my polished parts and all that.

07-28-2001, 11:12 PM
If you got a big race I would hurry up and get a diff rebuild and a thrust bearing rebuild. If it is loosening then your thrust bearing isn't working, and locktite isn't a fix. Now it is gonna create heat. I was told but dunno how true it is, always put the head of the thrust bolt on the same side as the spur gear. Keeps it from turning loose.
As for the turning, you gotta play with the turnbuckle that connectes the 2 bellcranks, and you have to give one wheel a little more steering travel to compensate, then adjust your toe in and toe out on that wheel.

TRX, I'd have the front toe-in at 0 for maximum steering and add 2-4 oz of weights to the front body mount (or someplace up there) for more steering. Then I'd set your camber at -2 degrees on all tires. Try this as a starting point and see how it is.
To set these you can try the RPM tuning gauges for camber (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p.pgm?Q=1&I=LXEV13&P=7) and toe-in (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p.pgm?Q=1&I=LXEU91&P=7).
Try getting a set of M3 tires. Stick with Edges in the front and either Bowties or Step Pins in the rear.

TRX, I have one hole in my tranny case that is stripped. I just put a dab of CA on a screw and put the screw back in. Its holding until I order something and can get a new tranny case.

Sigh....another day..another
.broken CVD (http://members.tripod.com/pitmonkey911/id110.htm)
Inresting day at the track i must say, at first my GT was just not it self, i had no brakes, tons of power, and no steering, so after putsing around with the break i said screw it and bought a new type of break(Really really good, looks dum but way better then stock) then i had Spur gear problems...dont know how that happened, my rfiend was having problems with his losi...TO much steering, so after an hour of bad tracking, he went to tries that had amaxing rear rtaction and no front, and i went good up front, middle in the back..needless to say both truck handeled the same, i mean we where pulling same lap times over and over, only times i would gain on him was because i simply had more power, i beat him in the straits which caused me to win...the report..both trucks are the same...its all about the driver these days.
heres that brake..

I am a newbie to nitro. I dont have a car yet but should have one soon. WEll you have probably guest what it is. But I cant decide on a Team built, Team Kit, or FT. Before you say go with the FT hear me out plese. OK. I have built 2 electric cars and worked on many others too. Is a gas car harder to build than electric? I built a XXX by myself which wasnt hard at all (Im 12). Now to what car I should get I will be running around my house outside and maybe race at the track. I was thinking of getting the Team but I wanted to hop up to ti turnbuckles. That would set me back 30 bucks. Team= 239.99+30.00=260.99 FT=279.99 w/tons of hop-ups. What should I do? Even though I will be bashing should I get the FT?
sorry for writing so much!
I am trying to read all the pages to this forum but man is it tough!!!!

Losiman...
Oooh~ you gotta get a new ID for this thread! Just jokin' :D Welcome aboard.
I suggest getting the Team Factory kit because it comes with ti turbuckles and many other goodies which you'll eventually wanna get. The ti turbuckle in the kit is very good and it matches the color of chassis. :)
I've never had any problems with it.

Jace, i havent had anough time with it, i did run it for more then an hour strait with no problems fading what so ever, and it seems to be way more ajustable, i would give it shot if the stock aint doing it for ta anymore.bad part, i had to dihch my slid :(

TRX, I'm interested in how that brake works also.
Losi and YZ, welcome aboard guys. Losi, just spend the extra money and get a Factory Team. Trust me, you won't regret it. Like you saw titanium turnbuckles almost make a Team cost as much as a Factory Team.

ATM, as far as i am conserned, it locks up the brakes when i want, i drags them when i want. and it dosent drag when i want, and there was absalutly no fading, even after running for an hour strait on a track(Lots of turns, lots of braking) so i say give it a shot, it is acualy a clean set up...as for out drives, mine arent worn..NAH!

Crescenzi RC10GT Brake System
From what I understand, when you have this brake on your car, you'll have more consistant braking all of the way through the travel of the servo. Fade will be a thing of the past (I've never had problems with fade on my FTGT because I have the carbon fiber disk). The only catch is, you'll need a lot more torque to lock the wheels up. You would be fine if you had a servo with at least 100oz/in of twist if you opt to use the Crescenzi brake system.
Does anybody here run this system? If so, please tell us about it. Pros and Cons.

Hey everybody, I'm back from Florida. My GT is down right now, because I need a pullstarter, battery, pipe holder, antenna holder, and a new receiver mount.
I thought about the crescenzi, but changed my mind and stayed with the stock brake. I haven't had problems with the original, and it works well for me. The fiber disc lasts a long time, and if it gets worn I just sand it down some.
Nick, there are new rear body mounts? When did they come out? I'll have to look for'em

Oh, sorry, I didn't read the post right. The two parts are the same shape, but RPM make them out of their nylon stuff, while the AE peices are composite.

I think the RPM ones are the old design without the antisquat.
