Well I know that by now most peopole know about Radio Controlled Hobbies on DIY. You can check the airtimes at www.diynet.com. But I just wanted to tell you about another RC TV Show. It is called Inside R/C. It comes on the Outdoor Network three times a week (same episode). Monday 4:30 PM, Thursday 2:30 AM, and Saturday 9:30 AM all times are central. If you want to check it out the website is www.Insiderc.com

Hope you all enjoy!

Pretty lame TV show, however. I watched some of each episode and was not impressed.

The biggest problem, IMO, was that they only showed the cars/trucks/boats/planes running/flying---they didn't show what it took to get them there or how to tune the vehicle.

The show could have been a lot more informative and instructional.

Actually I'd consider that to be a plus... That's the main reason I don't watch RCH ever, been doing this for so long that when I try to sit there and watch them doing basic assembly and tuning to (mostly) entry level equipment it's almost mind numbing. They spend 25 minutes showing how to fill your gas tank and explaining the wonders of the ziptie on your T-Maxx/plane/whatever just to show the thing running for a minute or two at the very end. By no means am I saying that's wrong, there are far more people out there that will benefit from that than won't - just that it isolates some viewers by it's sheer simplicity (which again, is the point of the show). Maybe one show or the other (or a third new show, more r/c tv - woohoo :) ) will take a more middle of the road approach between setup and coverage, or at least cover some slightly more advanced topics once in a while.

My guess is that the Inside RC show is merely an advertisement vehicle to make people aware of what's available, and to bring more people into the hobby. They show all the cool stuff to get you to say..."I want that"... but don't give you much info about what it takes to get it running, and maintaining it. Radio-Controlled Hobbies is better, IMO, because it tells you what you need to know to get up-and-running, plus tips/tricks that you may need in the future. It also gives you a great incite on what is involved in R/C modeling... such as the rules of the "field/track", and how much work is involved, etc. My only complaint about R-CH is that I keep seeing the same shows over and over again. Chris Chianelli needs to get to work and show some new stuff!!! I have heard(thru the grapevine), he is quite busy now with other projects, but is due to return soon with new shows.

BTW... did you notice that Inside RC is hosted by Derek Buono(along with a few others)... who is the Exec. Editor of XRC magazine??? ;)

That's the key, right there. It's great that there's even one show on Television, and now, there are two. (I have yet to see the one on the Outdoor network. 30 minute "infomercials" regarding R/C is better than nothing.
