Stupid friend + RC car + freeway...read to learn.

OK, I will give the shortened version, My friend has a Shumacher Nitro Fusion, they claim 80 mph w/optional gearing. So having a ton of money from his birthday and wanting to out-do my NTC3 w/ sirio .12 (which obviously the SNF is faster than), he bought it. Now he is smart and thought it would be the coolest thing to drive his 1/10 touring car ont hew highway at 3 a.m. So he equipped it with the neon under car lights, headlights and taillights, I don't knwo what company makes these, but one of our LHS carries them. Anyhow, so we wait for traffic to clear on this main road, which technically is a highway, and we get on, and since it was about 3:15 in the morning it was empty. so we pick up speed in my other friends real car, im in the passenger seat and he is in the back of the truck with the window open, so were doing about 60 and the RC is keeping up no problem, all of a sudden the light changes to read and my friend (driver) has to stop because there is a truck turning...so we couldn't just keep going, and my friend drops the remote cause of the braking int he real car and the trigger gets pinned down to full throttle, so the fusion just takes off into the distance (runaway)....and we attempt to catch up, but uhh yeah, we didn't and well lets just say, the new york times delivery guy got a nice delivery into the front of his delivery trucks tire. nitro fusion = 80 - 100 pieces....delievery truck = 1 so here is my advice, please never try this ever. I almost peed my pants laughing, more so because he is out $500....but defintiley the funniest and dumbest thing I have ever seen in my life...seriously you should be crying right now.

ive seen it done to great success.not with a fusion though but with an rs4. if he didnt drop the radio all would have been well. how far were you trying to go? miles? shoulda quit sooner.

now this is stupid. i saw a video of a guy driving BEHIND his car on a road controling from the passenger seat while the guy in the middle filmed. well it hit something got out of control and flipper ...crunch. they even have the sounds plastic snapping and a bump in the road on film...ill find the link.

Also it was the force of the car breaking that made him droop that radio. But it is a stupid thing to be doing in the first place.

his road to myr oad, its about 3/4 of a mile, a nitro car on a full tank, he probably had it close to maxxe dout, we were doing 60 mph in my buddys truck and it was pullign away on us, not WOT, 2/3's maybe 3/4 open, then we slammed on the brakes and he slammed down the trigger for like 3 seconds, do the car got way outta radio range before we couls top it, and since he thought the TRS was just slowing him down, he took it off. (which, btw the way was hilarious cause the fuel tank was smashed open and it was totally like a real race car, it was way way toof unny...even the times delivery guy was cracking up, they're was one neon light still running, all the rest of the car was curshed, he bent the chassis, broke all his bulkheads, broke 3 arms, exploded 2 shocks, bent one and twisted the shft on the 4th, blew open the fuel tank, snapped conrod, tore apart exhaust and bent manifold the wrong way, bent 2 cvd's, broke all his turnbuckles as well as wher ethey connect, busted the front shock tower, twisted the rear, steering servo is stripped and case is cracked, throttle servo was the only part ok ironiucally, motor block is fried and engine has seized. everything is toasted, tranny gears, at least the plastic ones, are stripped half way.....soooooooooooooooooooooo crazy. I think that is everything, transmitter is crushed, also drive train is all mangled, its a heap of broken metal/plastic. the body is just a flattened piece of lexan.

a few hundred, probably the cost of the car in parts again, he still has it, in a plastic bin in the basement of his house, its probably the funniest thing, I laugh everytime i look at it, and the best part of it all was that he spent like 4 hours painting a stratus body, which was quite nice cause he does know howto air brush, but thats literally flat lexan now...i still almost cry/laugh when i think about it.
