I have a GM3 ESC and I read the its limit is >18T. What would happen if i try using a modified motor thats like 14T or even 10T? Also, would a modified motor that is 18T or up be really slow?

Hey, I wouldn't go 1 or 2 turns below the reccommended, if you go more than that or if your esc gets hot on even a 18t, you might melt the thing. Make shure you gear low if you go under 18t. 18t is not slow. Depending on your vehicle and your motor, it should be fine.

Well i have a pro stock Fantom motor and its fast but i want to go faster, would a modified 18t really make a difference? Im using a tamiya tl-01 chassis car by the way.

Yes, there will be a difference, I had a stock stinger in my Bandit, and upgraded to a Speed Gems 2 17t Double, I had the original tires from 3 years ago still on, they wore out within to months, And I had Stock Gearing then. Didn't even know you could change the gearing, so 18t would be fine, but I want to go alot faster, So Im putting a 11-13 turn In my BANDIT.:D

I got an Trinity D5 Flatliner 8 turn triple in my FT B3, it is with ease doing over 40 mph, also I have a Novak Dually ESC, it runs about 90 bucks, no motor limit, 4-8 cell battery limit. Seriously, get a good ESc, it'll runt he car smoother, and keep both the motor and ESC cool during running. and you can never go wrong with a good ESC, it can be used for any motors, and it can be transferred between cars.
