Please, don't just e-mail this tid-bit of info.

Surely there are more folks that would like to hear about the nuts and bolts to this operation ;)

i haven't rewound a brushed motor but I have done a brushless, i used magnet wire, but i don't think youed need that for brushed, just solid copper wire should do it, just pay attention to how the motor was wound as you unwind the wire thats all i can suggest.

I can't just be copper wire, the wire needs to be insulted or you end up shorting out the motor possibly ruining your battery pack and speed control.

First you would need to know what type of power output or characteristics you want from the motor. Quick acceleration, med or slow which will determine the size wire and how many turns and strands to use. After winding you will then need to epoxy the wires to prevent the strands from coming loose and then balancing the armature.

The time and care it takes would not be worth the effort unless you had all the equipment at hand. It would be cheaper to purchase an armature or contact some of the motor builders and have them special wind you an armature (Fantom, Mighty Motors, Big Jim and others) for your intended use.
