well, i got a tc3 racer for christmas. i went to my local track and i think im hooked. i want to make the thing race ready or atleast competitive. i have a 5300 basic lehner motor w/ warrior 7018. i want to run 7 cells. this is a carpet track. this is my list so far.
1. foam tires.(jaco)
2. molded outdrives(melted my old ones)
3. 40lb springs(front)
4. 35lb springs(rear)
5. 70wt shock oil
6. Duratrax bearing set
QUESTIONS:
1. what compound for the tires?
2. are those springs too stiff?(i want to run about 5mm ride hight)
3. should i run a spool in the rear or a diff?

if you want to be race ready, you cant use a brushless...they're forbidden. second, you can adjust ride height by how much you compress the shock spring while on the body, not by different springs. i dont know much about the other stuff though(im into off-road)

Those are the springs I use in my xxx-s. I dont know how much the 7th cell will add. And 7 cells is not legal for racing. If you are running carpet run like 3-4 mm of ride height. Dont run the spool. To adjust the ride height just add spacers on the shocks. The more spacers te higher the cars wil be off the ground.

im not "racing" like in the scence of qualifying and mains heats and stuff like that i just want to go to the track on a summer day and have some fun, while still being competitive. what about the tires.(tc3punk, i didnt get controller yet but its ordered:) )

If you are racing on carpet you might want to think about foams... otherwise go with rubber...... a lot better wear.

yeah i really want foams. im sick of rubber, it wears so quick. for foams im thinkin pretty much jaco all the way. compound wise, i talked to some people and im looking at orange/purple for the front and purple for the rear. both are exotic foams so they dont wear as quickly as the natural. the orange/purple foams have purple foam in the midle and orange on the outside 1/8th in. this prevents the foam from "chunking" on tight turns and crashes.(orange is harder than purple.) and finally for suspension, i was thinking about just askin the guys at my local track about what is popular and good. well thats all for now.

forget the lehner and get the novak bl
-better throttle control
-7cells
-very high quality
-ZERO COGGING

i already have the lehner and the novak is a weak BL system. only 196 watts. that more than a brushed no question about it. but my lehner is pushin out over 700watts. so there.

no way your motor is putting out 700w at 7cells thats almost 1.5hp!!

ahh you are learning grasshoper. true on 7 cells my motor isnt putting out 700watts if i have it geared correctly. but if i would gear it up or add a few cells my motor would be pushin 700watts. http://www.rumrunnerhobbies.com/basic_series.htm
how about you take a little look at number 2. and 1 electric horsepower= 746watts. so 700watts would be .93833hp, fyi

um, don't foams wear quicker than rubber, but give better traction?
