Any one know anything about Ameteur Radio Telecommand and RC ??

As I understand it, the license allows you to use 50 and 53 mHz bands for RC, but it's not that simple. Finding equipement that is suitable for use on these bands is rather difficult. As far as I know, none of the radio manufacturers makes a two or three channel receiver for these bands, only big ole honkin multi-channel (6 to 10 channel) airplane receivers. They're so big you could use them as a Mini-Z chassis. :D

You might be able to get a modual and reciever custom tuned to 50 or 53mhz by futaba, I heard that inside the 3pk modual there are dials that allow you to change the band and finetune the frequency. I doubt they'd do it for you though and if they did Im sure it would be expensive.

Is that anything like the satelilte controlled systems the military uses to control drones? That would be cool just because of the phenominal range we could have!:)

I know a guy that played around with satelite control and ended up working for the military on the same stuff...He got special security clearance and everything, I don't know too much bout that but it seems pretty cool. I think he got some offers from the police too cause they needed cheap surveilance/aerial photographs of stuff, i dont know if he did or not

I like where Pro3/nmt105 is going...I bet I could find somone who could figure out how to do it.

hey KG6...it's gonna be expensive alright...the stock transmitter he mentioned cost over $200....i think maybe 300 w/taxes.....and if you got mods installed even more.........you might want to GET a car or airplane first lol!! but i think your ahead of yourself here.............:rolleyes: i'd just work on gittin a good station..........
