I'm sure Tamiya will make one: They did the first 2 Imprezas, including the bubble-light one as soon as it was released.

I assume you mean what is to us here in the US the "2004" model. Like this:

This is my "2003" model (the yellow one is mine):

http://www.dooleyprinting.com/brsc/march1st03-2.jpg

I'm sure HPI will make one as well.

I think the new STi WRX's are coming out in May, but that sounds too early to me...

I like the styling a lot better.

Those are my favorite rims on the WRX, but in 5 Spoke. Advan something..

Cosmo is yours a Wagon? It seems like all the Yellow WRX's I see are Wagons, I dont like them too much.

We have that model here in Australia already! It looks so hot, huge improvement over old bug eye! Cant wait for tamiya to relase it, my current WRX body has taken a bit of a beating....

That's because it has a body kit on it. I think the new WRX looks excellent. I have always been a fan of the WRX. Im hoping that HPI will make an EVO VII or VIII body... that would be tite!:p

I like the facelift. I'm also happy that Subaru decided to offer a moonroof in the Impreza. Will the non-Sti WRX receive this facelift as well? Is it me, or is that hood scooper larger than the stock piece?

I wish that Tamiya would produce a WRX (or Legacy) in a wagon...I'd be on that quicker than white on rice on a paper plate with a glass of milk in a snowstorm.

No. Mine's a sedan. I'm too young to drive a wagon. Even if it is a turbo wagon.

What I would like to see is that GT-R Concept that came out a while back in RC form...

The new WRX's are coming in May and all the WRX's will look like that. Well, the 2.5's won't have the scoop but will look like that. The scoop has gotten larger and larger over the year's but it's aight in my opinion. The new WRX's look awesome and a lot better than the "bug-eye" model of last year. It incredible how much faster the STi will be compared to last year's WRX. My dad has fixed his WRX pretty extensively and is running 4.6 0-60 and 13.7 1/4 mile and is like half a second slower than the STi 0-60 and like a second slower in the 1/4. My dad is thinking about getting one, but he also said he is interested in the RX-8; so I dunno. Well, LAter

I think the newer wagon looks pretty sweet. The older non-WRX wagon wasn't very good, especially ugly with the pseudo-Outback trim. The new bubble-eye wagon looks awesome in both WRX and Outback trim.

You can't see the 'bug eyes' from behind the wheel.

I'm not trying to start any controversy, but "extensively fixed" and running 13.7's? What has he done? My car ran 13.8's stock. It's now close to 13 flat, and I've only put $3000 in mine.

Is the seven tenth's worth $3K? What exactly did you do? I am always surprised at how much guys spend for such little horsepower/performance gain.

It's the COBB stage 1 kit that he got dyno tuned by trey cobb in dallas (before they moved). WRX's aren't geared for 1/4 they are geared for 0-60. That's what sold them, eventhough they are strong from a roll they can be beaten by many other cars (it's not hard. After 60 WRX's kinda "fall on their face" performance wise.

What do you drive and what did you put in it? If it is a WRX you must have gone bigger turbo, because the COBB stage one kit cost like $2,000. People don't believe me when I say my dad's car goes 0-60 in 4.6 secs and goes the 1/4 in 13.7's. They say," That's not right." But it's the gearing, if you tinker with the gearing I'm sure my dad's car could run 13 flat, but I dunno. LAter

Yes, it's worth it. I can't make someone understand it. You either do or you don't.

I have the WRX pictured above. It has a UTEC, turbo back, up-pipe, and, most importantly, an ACT clutch. The stock clutch on the WRX just won't work when drag racing. After changing just the clutch, I noticed a huge difference. It was my first mod. I don't have to slip it nearly as much as I used to.

I love how Mitsubishi was on top with the Evo VIII for like a weekend there. This new WRX STi owns...I want one! :D

I dont mean to be pissy, but I hate it when people compare the Evo 8 to the STi. The Evo 8 was never ment to compete with the STi. If Mitsubishi is smart, they will release a GSR version, which should meet or beat the STi. JMO

iwannarc

The whole reason the Evo VIII and STi are coming here are to compete. What do you mean they were never meant to be compared. They are both all wheel drive, they are both turbo-charged 4 bangers, and they are both four doors. OF COURSE THEY ARE GOING TO BE COMPARED!! Plus, they are like only a couple of tenths off in the 0-60 and 1/4 tests. They are each others main competition. Do you actually think they made the two rally dominant cars not to compete on the road? Wake up, dude, they were made to compete.

Lancer Evolution Vs. Impreza STi is like Mustang Vs. Camaro.

1. New STi is awesome
2. The last good Lanevo IMO was the VI after that they just got Fuglier
3.

"NEW IMPREZA
The facelifted Subaru Impreza made its UK debut at Birmingham, to the alarm of car scientists. 'Yes the new model is better looking,' noted Dr Arby Fyve. 'But I notice that the STi's bonnet scoop has got bigger again. At this rate of constant growth I predict dire problems for the future. Within a few years the scoop will be so big that it will obscure most of the windscreen. And, according to my calculations, by 2008 it will be so large that stadium rock bands will be able to host concerts inside it.' Dr Fyve later denied that his calculations were '****'. "

the Lancer Evolution is always been the direct Rival of the Subaru Impreza (btw, why aren't they called Impreza's in the US any more?). Seeing as they are Japans main entries into the WRC they have always and will always be rivals...

also, these cars have always had around 305ps in japan...we are just not allowed to have "stock" cars in the US, they mus be watered down to make the government happy...

The last Evo that looked good was the VI... the last STi that looked good was the V5 GC8.

The silver car pictured at the beginning of the thread is a 2003. It is not an American car... it is RHD. Overseas gets their Subaru's one model year before we do... their 2001 was our new 2002, their 2003 will be our 2004. The thread starter is from Australia.

Lol, I love SniffPetrol. As for looks, IMO the Evo7 was fairly nice, only to be topped by the Evo4GSR. The new one looks too plasticy and mainstream. Basicly, the Evo8 is trying to be more like other cars, not be alone in its own catagory.
