How much time will i get with some NiCd's vs NiMh's? I know this is a vague question but give tell me what you get or what you got with what mAH rating and radio.
Why don't they have lithium-ion batteries avaiable yet?
Nobody really measures or cares about this anymore. A long time ago, we all used them 500mah nicads without any trouble. I got almost 2 hours on mine with old radios. Right now I run a multiplex and get like 3 hours on 850mah nicads. Mind you I can steal the 2100mah nimhs off my digital camera and probably get like 7 hours(guessing) of use but thats almost pointless. I mean with my current setup, I charge my pack the night before I go to the track. And can ALWAYS get through the night. If I was stupid and forget to turn my radio off, it'll beep to tell me when it's almost dead; I charge them on like 2 amps until my next run/heat. Never been screwed except for once when my charger false peaked due to my own carelessness.
So, does it look like there is really a need for Li-on here?, NO! You'll get more time than you'll need out of nimhs(like them 2100's or so) and they are cheaper. And you won't need the special charger, etc, etc... Why bother with li-on?
