Charlie,

Wow those look killer. I'm sure that everyone will be asking anyway, so I'll save them the trouble....How did you do that?!? or is that a secret of the pros?;)
Anyway, very nice paint. Very clean and sharp!

Just another admiring fan,

LOL...i wanted to thank the kind words. Anyway, no secrets here. For the flames, i sprayed a medium coat of Createx Irridescent Green then while wet, i got saran wrap and make a pattern using the wrinkles of the plastic wrap. After drying it with a hair dryer, i backed the flame with Createx Irredescent Blue then backed that with Black. Following me?=) Thereya go!

I see the rest of the truck is white. Did you paint the whole truck white first and then do the marbalizing as described above? I have a F-150 Stepside and am looking to paint it. So I need to find an interesting design and tricks to help me.

Actually, there are violet streaks that you can not see towrds the rear of the truck. But to answer your question, yes, i painted the white first then did the marblizing last.

Baller..thanx man!

I love how you are able to use multiple colors in your shadowing. I may have to give that a try. Are you watering them down a lot and doing a few lights coats of each color?

thanks

and as always your an inspiration!

when i use createx, i thin it down with alchohol. and i only do 1 to 2 coats(very light) to get the paint translucent.

Charlie

I assume you use a spray gun...I have painted only one body and that was with the cans....I am looking to get a beutiful paint job on my f-150 stepside truck body.....do you have the template for it and if so do i use photoshop to test the colors on it?

http://www.projecttwin.com/smilies/thud.gifCharlie, that's about the only body I've seen where the shadows actually make the design appear to be resting above the body.

Outstanding!

thanks

charlieB, nice work, as usual. I have a question for ya. You said you used green, then blue. I have seen others use white, then blue. Hav eyou tried that? If so, which do you prefer, the white/blue, or green/blue? How different do they really look, from eachother?

Yo Charlie,

Whats happening Bro? Its been a while, nice to see you haven't given up on the RC folks. Im still planning on coming down to visit again this year. I'll be in touch and let you know.

As far as that marble effect, it looks good. One of my friends is in the process of selling his GSR and it has that same Marble effect on it as well.

Drayken-
I used green because i wanted to try something diferent other then using white or silver. they all give different effects color wise and overall appearance of the graphic. as long as people permit me to "go off" on their bodies, then i have more freedom to play with colors and schemes. sometimes the best inventions come from the best accidents...

Cheers!

Charlie

Is there any way to get a f 150 stepside template off of you so I can figure out some paint schemes? Do you need a real picture of the truck to do it? Sorry I am very new to this.

Thanks. One more question. Can this be doe with watercolors. Specifically, Faskolor? I have a feeling it may not, so I am asking before I try it. Not sure if the watercolor will stay dry long enough.
