I just finished a Hot Sot Sprint 3.5 wood, w/ Thunder Tiger .21 outboard. I gave it a try last weekend but are having some troubles. It seems that the front of the boat sits low in the water when running, I have a 0% thrust angle. Also it seem that the engine is not able to attain full RPM, because the boat doesnt seem to be on a full plane. Is it necessary to give the outboard and updward thrust angle to bring the bow out of the water, and would raising the engine possibly help achieving higher RPM's. Also, Im having one other problem, water leaks, is this just something you have to live with on wood boats. After running the boat awhile, I notice quite a slosh in the boat. I drilled a hole in the transom to try to get the water out, got most of it, but it seems that there are so many cavities for water in the hull, was i supposed to drill holes inside the boat during contruction to allow water to flow between bulkheads. I was thinking of pressurizing the hull with the hole I made and sticking it in the pool and seeing where I get bubbles. Is it impossible to seal all the holes. Also is there a large risk of wood rott if leaving any moisture in the hull, I waterproofed the inside during construction. Thanks in advance for any suggesstions anybody may have.

Take your engine up so that the prop shaft is slightly abve the bottom of the sponsons. Add angle a little bit at a time, sometimes 1 or 2 degrees will make a big difference!
Water leaks are a big problem, remove as much water as possible and find that leak. At least you were smart enough to seal the wood inside the sponsons when you built it so hopefully that will save the wood from damage.
