I just bought the new high end futaba and my LHS said I could use standard high torque servos. Well, I installed my futaba S9204's on the streering and throttle. These are used for helicopters and they always worked well for me because they are high torque and very fast. The issue is in the Futaba manual it says use digital servos only. Can I use the coreless BB servos or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a pcm reciever you can use digital or regular, but if you have the hrs reciever you can only use digital servos. You probably have the pcm cause your lhs said you could use standerd servos.

I do have the FM version. I guess I'll be taking a couple of digi servos out of one of my helis.

The HRS receiver is FM (same as PPM) just a high frame rate FM which is setable from the transmitter. The 203hr receiver will work but not in high rate. Futaba tells you to use digital servos to acheive the high rate response.

I opted for the PCM receiver since I have more non-digital servos.

I have the PCM, someone told me if you have the High Freq FM version and you use a regualar servo (non-digital) that you will burn the servo up. I think even in Futaba's manual it mentions somthing about it.
From The manual:
NEVER use non-digital servos with HRS
receivers. Severe damage to all electronics may
result, including the possibility of a fire. Only
digital servos may be used with HRS receivers,
including for throttle.

Also you lose the fail safe function with the High Freq version
