which motor should i get

Go with the 17x2 for both speed and acceleration.
Rule of thumb: Less winds means more torque (17x2 vs.17x3), meaning a motor with a double wind will have more torque than a triple wind, and so on. An dthe lower the amount of turns, the more speed you will be looking at. I'm not familiar with the TLO1, but you are, so you should know what gearing to use.

Have you thought about the Tamiya Super Stock Type "T"? its a 23t and its fast! but i dunno if you'll find any at a LHS... i have a hard time scrounging up some... best bet, eBay;) just a suggestion:)

how fast would my car go with it right now my car was clocked at 17.49 mph with the stock motor and 19 tooth pinion

Not sure about the Tamiya tuned motor, but TAO3 says it's fast, so I believe him.
With the 17t you can bet to get above 20mph, and if you gear it right and use the right batteries, you should be able to get up to 25mph out of it.
