I was flipping through the 01/03 RCCA, and looking at the size of some of those new (For then) monsters. The MGT and Terra Crusher specifically, are HUGE. Could these trucks be getting TOO big?
As the size goes up, the cost goes up, not just for the trucks but also for the required gear (Engines, servos, bodies, etc). You'll also need more and more room to bash around.
At what point will the trucks level off, or will they keep getting longer and wider and taller?

i think they are getting too big. i think they should make a smaller and lighter truck with the speed and the jumping ability of the bigger ones. people want a bigger trucks but it is not the size of your truck, but how you drive it.

They still make 1/10-scale stuff, the 1/8-scale just adds to the variety. And if people buy it, they'll make it. T-Maxxes are still selling very well, so they'll continue to make them.
They've been making 1/5-scale stuff for a while, 1/8-scale is puny by comparison!

i think mini replicas of MT's look amazingly cool. i mean i love my dominator, but imagine it being half the size yet still have that stance and posture of an MT. i think one of the manufacturers (whos it gonna be) should make a 1/12th nitro monster truck that would be a good racer and withstand massive abuse. i beleive it would open up a whole new world of racing and r/c to the public and all us fellow addicts. thats just my half cent.

I think they might be getting too big too. I can't imagine a big, heavy truck jumping very well, or handling as well as a lighter truck. I think it's really a question of balancing the strength and toughness that comes with bigger/thicker parts against the reduced performance the added weight brings.

I had a Blackfoot way back in the day and that truck was a blast, as was my Dad's Midnight Pumpkin. But my Maxx is so much more fun. It can go through stuff the Blackfoot would have hung up on, can climb, can jump hills I'd have been scared of with my 'foot, etc. All because of the size.
Personally, I'd like to see a true 1/6th Monster, 4WD, solid axle, with suspension like a real monster truck. And not like that 1/5th that was in RCCA a couple months back.. More like a really big TXT-1. Powered by a .70 or .95 engine.

I second that!
1/8th is kinda puny. I'm really hoping AE's is as big as it sounds. Even the stretched Titan isn't large enough. If you've never seen these big things fly through the air at top speed - do yourself a favor! The scale "feel" is amazing; smaller jumps look more impressive. My Monster Pirate clears 40 feet consistantly and it's truly awesome! Plus the bigger trucks go over rough ground way better than 1/10th.
