receiver question

I have a xxx-s sport with the JR controller and I just got a ntc3 rtr. I want to use my jr controller though instead of the one that came with the ntc3. Is all I need to get the different frequency thing for the controller? Or do I need a new receiver too? Thanks.

Assuming they are both the same type of radio, AM or FM, or the same band, 27mhz or 75mhz, then they theoretically will work together with the same number on the crystal, but that often doesn't work when mixing radios from different manufacturers. Sometimes the transmitter and receiver can't 'talk' to each other, usually the crystal from one won't work in the receiver/transmitter from the other.

When dealing with different brands, it's best to just switch receivers to match the transmitter you will use. You might not have any problems, but it's not that hard to move stuff around, and you KNOW it will work then (Or you'll know where you don't have to look if it doesn't).
