hey guys, i'm trying to set up my boat and am undecided whether to go with a surface drive setup or a submersed one. i have a 45" dumas scarab that im building. i'm going to be installing a zenoah g230 pum and just bought an outdrive setup from r/c speedworld. they told me to run the outdrive in a surface setup. can anyone tell me how to set it up or has any pics

About surface vs subsurface you really should go with what the hull design is intended for. Most likely yours is surface drive and if the hardware you bought is made for surface drive you may not even be able to mount it for subsurface use. It should have a diagram in the plans explaining how to set up the boat. If you don't have any sort of manual try contacting the company for help.

The reason nobody replys is that very few experienced guys read these forums. Also many of the answers that are given are wrong.

Try Jims boat dock, they know gas boats:

Rcboats forum and international waters both have many very knowledgable members mostly dealing with nitro boats:

Rumrunners still have the best electric forum(and they answer quick). Many of the memebers also run gas and nitro and they are great for questions about hull design.
