It will plug into a wall outlet or hook up to a 12v battery.

How come it says DC only then???
It will only work with DC power. It either has a built in power converter or will come with one. My Intellipeak deluxe pulse charger has a power supply . That plugs into AC outlet. The power supply take 110AC input and converts it to 12v DC output.

I don't know if you received the answer you were looking for yet or not, but here goes. The digital intellipeak charger comes as 2 seperate pieces in the box. There is the charger, which is DC by itself, and there is a power supply which will plug into an outlet. They work fine either way. This gives you the option of using the charger if there is electric available to you and also hooking it up directly to a DC power source such as a car battery.

I actually bought an Intellipeak Deluxe...but I have a question about that, whenever I take the power supply out of the outlet, and a battery is still hooked up, the charger keeps working, and keeps the fans on and everything...a few days ago i went out and came back about 1.5 hours later, and the charger was still charging on trickle!!! How is this possible, the instructions never say anything about this feature...is it bad to use the charger like this???

Don't ever let a battery hooked up after it is done charging. It will overheat and ruin the battery. Yes the charger still looks like it is working, but really it is only giving voltage numbers from the cell. At that point it is only draining the battery.
