I'm looking for some high grip soft 2.2 tires specifically for rock crawling on my MT. The Tamiya tires I have now (stock wild dagger)are great for loose surfaces(grass/ gravel), but have too litle surface area(sits on the 'pins') on the tread for rock crawling.
these are the ones I have:

You'll want something softer than those. Pro-Line's Masher 2K's, Dirt Hawgs, or Dirt Works would be good. Depending on how the tires hold up without inserts, they might work better without them, for more sidewall flex (Test it first before gluing the tires up) for strictly crawling. For general running, leave the inserts in.

Something for show. I've got dirt and grass tires and am about to pick those 'crawlers'.

It's down to a few groups: Pro-Line's Mashers or Masher 2000s, MRCs MT10M or Ironman tires, or the Imex Pro Pullers (Possibly their other 2.2" tires as well). I have the MT10M tires and they are really tall, so tall that the chassis won't bottom out before the suspension.

The Masher 2000s look the best, so go with those.

Where can I buy/look at the MT10M tires?
The stock Tamiyas have pretty soft sidewalls for soaking up jumps, but they just don't grip rocks. I took it rock crawling yesterday, and got a lot of wheelspin on the rocks... not to mention I need to lock my rear diff.

The Masher 2000's seem to be the popular ones. I may end up trying to fit some larger rims. I'll run to the POS LHS and see what fits.
I could only find Imex tires for T/Emaxx's. Where can you get them for 2.2's?

With the Wild Dagger, stick with 2.2" wheels and tires: I don't think the suspension and geometry is going to like larger, heavier wheels and tires.

I actually can't find any place with MT10M or Ironman tires, but MRC should sell them.

The MT10M tires are basically the same, just straight lugs instead of these zig-zag ones.

I just ordered some claw dawgs from imex.

My suspension(towers shocks, increased travel) is being completely redone--I just have to decide betwee 3 "and 4" shocks

lol.If I wanted BIG I'd go with these- over 8" tall:)

I'd go with imex Pullers. they are the biggest 2.2 sized tires out there. Im pretty sure there 5.75in. Thats about the size of a standard maxx tire

Those Imex Claw Dawgs should be a good fit. Don't forget that the Wild Dagger has very limited gearing, so going too tall is not really feasible. And the Dagger also has relatively short suspension arms and widely offset wheels, which means too much tire hanging off the axles will increase wear and the potential for breakage.

Go with the 4" shocks, the 3" will be too short and will limit your suspension travel, especially in a monter truck! The shocks I have/use are 4.5"......all 12 of them!

Where do you shop/look for them? I'm looking For some street tires for my savage, preferably a low profile one to lower my overall gear ratio.
