I would like to learn 3D and have an OS FX 61 that I would like to utilize. Would a Magic Extra be too small? Would a U Can Do 60 be too big? Please keep in mind the altitude here in Greeley, Colorado is about 3500 Ft above sea level. I have also considered a Tower Hobbies Uproar but not clear if it will help be along my way. I do have a YS .91 but was planning on strapping it to a Great Planes Extra 300 once it is covered. Thanks for any input. DJK

The 61FX would be too small for the UCD. The only Magic Extra I saw was flying with a 46FX, I believe. If the 61 fit without being too heavy, that would be a good plane. A Pizazz or Something Extra would also be good planes for that motor. There is a guy at our field who put a Saito 91 on a Pizazz and LOVES IT!
To practice 3D stuff, the more power the better!
Good luck.

Thanks, how about UCD with the YS .91? Also, as I am always thinking about two planes ahead of myself, would a YS 1.4 be too big for a Great Planes Extra 60 size plane?

I think the .91 would be ok for the UCD. A guy at our field has an YS 120 on his and it flies great. I'm not sure how much reserve he has, but if you want 3D type performance, you need the most you can get.
Not too familiar with the 60 size Extra.... Oh wait, that's what my flying buddy has on his. He has a 91FX on it. It flies good, but not quite 3D good. Don't get me wrong, it has good power. If you can fit the 1.40, you'd be set! Just be sure you don't overweight the plane. That's the other problem trying to go with a 3D set up. You want lots of power and no weight. You should put the YS140 in the UCD and the 91 in the Extra.
Check the weight of the engine and compare it to a 91FX.
Also, if you haven't been over RC Universe, there are more plane people over there. This site seems very good for car people but not too many plane posts here.
It's http://www.rcuniverse.com/index.php?referrerid=4987
Good luck.

Thanks, I've been looking for an active RC board. DJK
