Right heres the deal:

I am on my 3rd battery holder that i have broken and I cant afford to keep replacing them! I need to make somthing, either to an exsisting battery holder, or make a whole new one to make it unbreakable!!

I was thinking a slab or something at each end..?

Suggestions welcome..

Heres a pic of the latest victim:

Solder 5 1200mAh NiMH cells together, and either wrap them in shrink wrap or electrical tape. Done! If you have space restrictions, try 2/3 AA or 4/5 AA cells. Equally as good and last longer than alkaline cells.

Alkaline cells aren't exactly environmentaly friendly -- two birds with one stone.

How would i charge them?
I use battery charges from Dick Smith, err, sorry "Radioshack"... ones where you put the battery in them...

:p

Then I suppose you don't have a 5 cell NiMH capable charger? If you don't, you can get a small wall trickle charger for NiMH. They should be fairly cheap.

The charging issue is the only thing that precludes the solder and wrap, which is optimum. If you don't have a charger for the pack, you need to do something else. Also if you make the box any thicker by adding strips to it, it will not fit in the bumper of your GT.

Polk I use horsewrap. It's a stretchy self-sticking cloth that can be found at any co-op (in America, in NZ wherever you find horse supplies.) It's about 3 bucks for a 50' roll. After putting your batteries in the holder, wrap it up with two wraps of horsewrap, it will cushion it and help keep it from breaking.

Horswrap is also great for extending the life of your shocks. You remove the shock and wrap it so it totally covers the spring. It does not affect suspension noticably and keeps dirt and dust out of the seals. I only have to rebuild my shocks once every two or three years or so. It's also great for receivers or anything else you want to keep dust out of, and comes in a variety of cool colors, including flourescent pink and green.

Here, again, is the pic, you can see the horsewrap on the shocks if you look at the enlargements, esp. the electrics:
