Is the Lynx 3D worth a look?

In terms of features and reliability, how does it compare with the bigger brands like futaba and sanwa?

I switched from a M8 to the 3D and have never looked back..

Great radio at a great price!

The only thing I didn't like about the M8 was:
The way the M8 felt in my hand is one of the main reasons.
It does also drain cells quickly.

Only issue I had with the 3D was no sub-trims and the menu was a little strange until you got used to it.

I haev used one for about a year now, it will take a pretty awesome radio to make me change, I have tried them all and the 3D just feels best to me, they are all excellent radios when you start payign that much for them if you ask me, I just love the feel of the 3D.

I did like the lynx3d, but I like the new futaba 3pk better, much better. To tell you all the truth, the lynx is too feature-lacking (at least compared to other high end systems) It is a very simple system. For example, It does not even have sub trims. It contains most of the medium-end features of radios such as the JR xr3 or so, but it is in the shape of a pro radio. Also, many of us in AL have had problems with the lynx breaking under normal use internally, causing slop in or even losing the steering. I bought my lynx to be synthesized, to say the least, which is an exceptionally good feature.

I just bought the new Futaba 3pk today, and I feel like i am in a whole different league. I like that it has features that i did not even know exist. As an added bonus, It has the same "feel" of a lynx. I also have the option of running reg. FM, PCM, and even the new HRS accelerated FM, all from the same radio. It works with all the Novak XXtra receivers that i had bought for my Hitec, and the SPECTRA module from my old hitec even fits in it! It is so feature packed that it could have a DVD player that i dont know about LOL!

The two radios are within 30 bucks of each other. I'd go with a futaba.

I've been running the the 3D for a little over 4 years. In my opinion, you can't beat it.
