How much money do you wanna spend? :D A lot of people like the Hitec MG servos........good bang for the buck.
I personally have a JR 8550 and love it. It has torque out the yin yang and is very fast. The Futaba 9450 is also excellent. The Airtronics 94357 and 94358 are also very good. Just kinda depends on what your application is. Some of these maybe overkill for what you are gonna use it for.

They don't make the S9450 anymore... It has been discontinued. Its replacement is the Futaba S9451.
I'd say just about any digital servo with .11 (or faster) and at least 80 oz/in. of torque would find its way quickly into any of my cars.
good digital servos (+some others) (http://www.precisionrc.com/product/category/servo.htm)
JR 8450 and 8550 are good too, but .15 is a little slow.

personally i really like my airtronics 94358. .10 transit time and 200oz/in of torque. can't really beat that!
the 94357 is NOT a better servo. it's just different. the 358 would work better in a buggy where the 357 would probably work better in a gas truck or touring car or electric car type application. it depends on what it's going in.

Yah, what about KO so far I have ad that same KO in my 1/8th scale buggy for 3 years and it hasnt fried. I have fried every other servo make though in my other cars. Mind you I race at my club every other weekend.

Im a newbie and have a question. How many servo do we basically need in RC? Thx

For most electric vehicles you generally just need one servo for steering. Most nitro vehicles have 2 servos, one for steering and one for throttle/brakes. Some big nitro monster trucks also have a shift servo to shift into reverse, so that would be three.

Some trucks have 2 servos for steering (lst,lst2 and im not sure but i think the revo) so that would make 4 if you had reverse aswell.

How many servos?
Cars/boats electric: 1, steering (usually).
Cars/boats gas/nitro: 2, steering, throttle, and occasionally a 3rd for reverse in cars
Planes: 2 minimum for most, possibly as many as 5 or 6 (more for special features).

chris some cars have 4 (2 for steering, 1 for throttle, and another for reverse)

Yes, I was posting the standard trend. AFAIK, only the LST and revo have 4 (and it's a waste - just use one, high-torque good quality servo instead IMHO).
Still, good point.

ive used hi tec 5925 in my buggy as steering servo, and if it didnt smoke it was BEST servo ever, extremly fast, very powerfull.
For smaller (XXX) i would go also with 5925 or 5945, cause they will be very fast, and plenty powerfull.
Now i have ERG-VB and VR and theyr pretty nice, slower than 5925, but theyr analogue, which means safer for me - less stripped gears

I have the 5945MG in my E-maxx - great servo. Fast, precise, and a LOT of power.
