Has anybody seen the new AeroHawk helicopter from Smartech? Its supposed to be a total redesign of there Skylark heli. Is it better then the Skylark? I'm really curious about this new heli because I recently purchased a Skylark, and I like it.

i dont know anything about helis but I am Curious too about these RTF relatively cheap helis.
Rc dealer, how do you like your Skylark, where did you get it?
Is it easy to fly?

I like the helicopter alot. This is my first rc helicopter so I really don't have anything else to compare it to. I am slowly learning the art of controlling it, as it is difficult for me to fly, yet I am comitited to really become good at flying it. I'm an rc helicopter newbie :p
Its pretty durable as I haven't broken anything yet considering the many hard landings it has had. I got it off ebay.
It looks like any other stock rc helicopter with a sort of sleek looking canopy.

Hi guys...
I'm considering buying the Aerohawk too, as I found one at a great price. I have two questions though. (Mainly for r.c. dealer, but anyone else with information is welcome to chime in too.)
1. Being a complete helicopter newbie is it worth the money, and can I learn to fly r/c helicopters with this machine?
2. R.C. dealer, how are you teaching yourself to fly it? ie..flight sims, training landing gear, etc?
Thanks,
Lee

From what I've heard Mini/Micro helis aren't good to learn to fly on. Apparently they fly much different than the bigger nitro helis. I have no hands on experience with either but I will be getting a nitro shortly. For more info on birds you can check out
www.runryder.com
They're really good over there. It's a strictly heli forum so if you can't find advice there you won't find it anywhere

Or you can check out the newest helicopter forum www.RotorWorks.net.
Some big-time gurus in e-helis can be found there as well.

Thanks guys... I'll check out both those sites. I need all the good quality info I can get. I'd like to get the best buy possible, but I want a decent, easier to fly helicopter too. Something I can learn myself without too much damage.

hi thought i would add some things. i have flown all kinds of them from big gas powered to what you have. the big ones or nitro 6 ch ones are very hard to fly and to learn to fly. 4ch ones are alot easyer to fly but if you want one anyone can fly i have one thats a two ch one flys to 50 feet high which is plenty real tough heli and they sell for around 60 to 70 dollars ready to fly. i ran mine into a brick wall just to see what would happen replaced the blades and took off again one tough bird let me tell you. so if any one would like one of these let me know thanks. lamberson3500@yahoo.com fly safe and have fun
