I asked Traxxas and they say the Titan 550 motor can not be taken apart.

In that case what is the best way to maintain the motors? Anyone know what the average life of a Titan 550 is?

1. Electrical, or nitro cleaner between runs; spray out all the innards, through all possible holes

2. Comm drops- a drop or two(follow directions) before you run it on the commutator

3. Buy extra brushes for when yours wear down too much

4. Comm scraper/brush/file to clean the comm whenever it gets too much buildup that electrical cleaner won't take off.

5. I'm sure I'm missing something

Of course, you CAN take the motor apart, but it's not designed with that in mind. Theres no guarantee you'll put the motor back together, but if you undo the clips that holds the brushes, you take the motor apart.
