I am planning to buy a savage in the future.. i just wanna know the weak points on it.. can somebody make me a list of things i have to replace to make it a decent truck... just minor things that takes off performance like i know the pipe isn't too great.. but things like that, things that break easily..

one thing i can tell you is that half of the 160cc fuel tank is exposed to the ground and can be broken in one bad hit. GPM Racing makes an aluminum fuel protector for it for only $13.00

Here are a few of the weak points I found on my savage21:
1:The fuel tank can be puntured by the screw that holds the shock on.Just turn the screw around so the allen head is facing the tank instead of the threaded part and no more worries.
2:The brake hub strips out easy.I bought the GPM alloy one and it's holding up nicely.
3:I've read that the second run of savages use a one-way bearing in the tranny.Once these breaings get dirty they start slipping ande the truck stops moving.Just clean the bearing and it should fix the problem but I'm not sure since I have the first run and it doesn't use the one-way.
4:The dogbones break.I've also read they have fixed this problem and even include 2 extra ones in the box now so thats always a good thing.
5:Take out all the screws that are metal to metal contact and put some thread lock on the so they don't back out. These big blocks put out allot of vibration and I lost a few while breaking in the engine.
Thats about it....I haven't found any other problems on my savage at all enjoy your truck and beat the crap out of it(it loves it:D )
