I am almost done putting my TXT-1 together and was wondering about a few things. What is the best way to hook up 4ws if you have a JRX3i Radio that has 3 channels? My other question is should I wire my stock motors to my Super rooster ESC in parrallel or series? In the MT Mag. they wired the TXT-1 in series with magnetic mayhem motors but those are mod. motors, I am using the stock ones because I want all out power for pulling and climbing. Should I set it up for parallel for the most power possible from the stock motors? Because I heard that if you wire them in a series it like making the 2 motors equal to only 1 and that doesn't seem like a good idea? Please help I am kinda confused???

I don't really see any advantages for series... other than run time, or if you use a 14V ESC(EMAXX) and are using motors designed to run @ 7.2V. Was the MT mag truck using an EMAXX power source( 2 packs in series) and ESC?

No he was using the super rooster with magnetic mayhem motors. I don't see why he didn't just wire it in parallel so he would could get all the performance possible out of those motors? Anyway I was also trying to figure out how the JRX3i works with 4ws? It says you can mix the 3rd channel but is that always being mixed or only when you press the thumb button on the radio? Please any suggestions on what to do will help.:)

common doesn't anyone have an idea? I also kind of had a weird question, where can I buy or order a charger for my Tyco Big Bad Kong truck? It runs off a 6V powerwheels battery, has anyone ever seen this truck before? Please help...

You have to program the mixing into the radio. Refer to your manual for details.

yopu dont need a 3rd channel for 4ws ,all you need is a "y" harness to tie both servos into one channel on your reciever.both the front and rear will turn at the same time with this set up.

I've had my TXT-1 for almost 2 months now. It's my first RC vehicle, so I've been learning as I go. When I built mine, I went with the Super Rooster with the stockers in series. I've been enjoying good run times with my 3000 nimh's, but I plan on a motor upgrade fairly soon. When I can get Mag Mayhems in there, I'll be wiring in parallel. I figure the series wiring has served me well to start off with, as I've been learning the nuances of driving a MT, but now I'm eager to have more power.

Doesn't being wired in a series really hurt your power and performance of your truck though? I was going to use a Y harness but then I set the radio to 100% where it says mix, so will the mix the 3rd channel on the reciever with the steering? I think it can be set to mix steering and throttle is this true at all if anyone knows? Thanks for the suggestions so far though!:)

Yes, that's the impression I get from everything I read. Not sure if my post was confusing, but what I'm saying is that I wired mine in series when I built it, cause I really didn't fully understand the differences, (as a newby) and opted for the more conservative setup.
When I get the Mag Mayhems, I will wire in parallel for more power. (tower shows out of stock right now on the mayhems)
As far as I know, the only benefits to series wiring is longer run times and less stress on your drivetrain.

You'll probably see a huge difference in performance after you get mayhems and wire them in parallel since your use to series. So not only will you be wire for more power buy your getting a lot faster motors too, it'll seem like a whole new truck. Tell me how it works when you get the new motors.

I was told at my LHS to wire it in series because of runtimes of only like 3min. they said. So thats what I ended up doing. It has good torque but is very slow, thats ok for now I guess. I'm probably going to get mayhems pretty soon are they better in power and speed than the stockers?

The speed difference between parallel and series should suprise you, and then if that is not enough, go for the magnetic mayhems.

Does it really hurt the run time or the torque? I was thinking of doing the same thing the TXT-1 did in the MT Mag, which was put mayhems in a series connected to the SR. That seems like a good idea right? Remember I want power more than speed. Another thing is can I get those UFO wheels and tires for the TXT-1? Just thought they would increase the amount of things it could drive over?

Sorry about all the questions but I was also wonding if it is possible to strip a spider gear packed with silly puddy? I can hear a popping sort of sound when I try to climb something that takes some power, could it be? This thing is only a week old and I only crawl over minor things, what gives?
