Well I know one problem with it, is that I rolled it and broke the top of the gas tank off so easy fix there. But when I get it started, and give it some gas, it just sits and revs up and won't go. I noticed on the spur gear that the little brown pads have been worn out again. But it only took 1 run to where them out. so I think the slipper is tightened wrong. I have heard some people say to tighten the nut that holds the spur gear on till the spring bars touch then back it off a quarter turn. Then I read in an RC mag somewhere that you wanna tighten it down as hard as it will go. What should I do?

I think the Gas tank may be the problem Sledneck01 .Because of the breaking the tank may not be air tight or might be leaking some air in.if air is leaking in the tank the engine will rev up too much and will stall.if this does not work go to the traxxas site and lodge them a question about the slipper truck in their fourm cause i dont have much experience with a slipper clutch.

If your slipper got fuel on it when you broke the tank it will not matter how hard you tighten it because it is contaminated with fuel/oil. If this happened you can try and clean them with some Denatured Alcohol or Nitro spray cleaner. But I doubt it will help much.

The adjustment settings are about right turn all the way in then back off a bit. If you turn it in all the way and it still slips then they are toast.

Buy new Slipper Disks again and get a spare because they are cheap. Most of the time if I break something I get a spare if it is cheap because if I broke it once I will break it again.

Just a thought ;)

Good point guys. I am gonna go tonight and get the part. I am gonna buy a few extra parts cause like joe said the stuff is gonna break. So I am gonna get another new tank (3rd one so far) a new slipper clutch pads and spur gear. Then I am gonna take everything apart and clean it and then put it back together. Thing should be good to go then. I am also gonna make sure the carb and head have no air leaks, cause that could also be why it is running sluggish. Thanks guys!
