I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion of what should I do to remove the primer button on my tank? Has anyone done this before? Yesterday I tried to move fuel through the fuel lines using the primer button but no fuel was moving. So I did a little test to make sure that it was in fact the primer button. What I did was remove the pressure line from the exhaust and blow through it to see if that would move fuel through the fuel line and sure enough it did. So that means the problem is the primer button, right? And when I got it to start running I did not notice any lose in performance from something like an air leak. So I'm pretty conviced that it's just the primer button. So what should I do to fix the problem?

Almost all new trucks and cars come without a Primer button these days because they fail to often. As the other dude says put your finger over the exhaust and give a few pulls and watch the fuel until it hits the carb. Your engine is primed.

If you can not see the fuel buy a fuel line that is clear. If the primer button has gone bad and you have air leaks to the tank purchase a new fuel tank.

Take off the primer assembly find a self tapping screw that will thread in, goober up the screw with some clear RTV and screw it in. Primer problem solved. Blowing through the exhaust line works good and fast for me. If it's easy to get to that's what I do. Covering the exhaust stinger and pulling a couple times will do the same thing.
