Is you top fin cracked~? Were you running on dirt or on the street~? If it was dirt you must have hit a rock or something, there's not much you can do other the run a SUV body like you said. Watch you temps if you do.

DUDE< I rolled mine over as well... ONly difference is mine landed upside down from about 8 feet in the air and I broke NOT 1, NOT 2, but 3 fins off the left side of the engine. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY GOD.. was it ever fun... here is a fix for you bud......
1. Get yourself some ARTIC SILVER THERMAL ADHESIVE ( http://www.bigfootcomputers.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=Bigfoot&Product_Code=2302CGTC&Category_Code=0200) check out this link and you will see what I mean. This adhesive is permenant and will NOT melt under the extreme temps of the heatsink.
2. Get yourself some RAM SINKS (like the one in the picture from the link above) and cut them length wise. Or you can use an OLD CPU heat sink and cut them with a cutting wheel and a dremel.
3. Clean off the area on the 21bb heatsink where you are going to attach the new heat sink patches.
4. Mix up the artic silver and then apply it to the bottom of the RAM SINKS or the heat sinks you made and then apply them to the top of the 21bb... When you put the RAM SINKS on the 21bb make sure you mush them around a bit so that the RAM SINKS and the 21bb heat sink make FULL contact with eachother.
5. LEt the savage sit overnight and VOILA you have a repaired heat sink head..... and I gurantee, this is a 100% gurantee if you did it right the engine will run cooler... and the patched heat sinks will NOT melt off.... THe only down side is they will stick up a bit higher than the stock head.... So you may have to rig up some extra protection for them. YOu may want to trim them down a bit so they do not stick up as much.
I did this for my engine and it works perfectly.....
If you need any help just drop me a line.

That's a good question. Are you going to cut holes for the ignitor and to fill fuel~? If you are then you can cut the hole larger for the ignitor to allow for some movement of your temp gun, you can shoot the temp through the wheel well at the area just under the head, or get a Venom. The farther away from the motor the bigger the temp guns spot, so safer is better than sorry.

You can get a nice one here: http://www.hobbyetc.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?part_id=25358
for only $40 and it comes with a plastic head protector so if anything broke it would be that. Also can make your engine run cooler. Check it out......

Heres a quick fix! Go to your local hardware store and pick up a very thin U bolt (they come very thin) and take a metal drill bit and drill out the bottom of it, tap it with some screws and mount it on. It will cover the head like a rainbow and that will fix your problem. I did it to mine and it took all of 20 minutes once I got back from the store.

want to protect ur engine? want to keep the same look of a truck? if u want to do both of these, try to listen.
here is a picture of what you will try to make, only smaller.

just make a draft out of cardboard or something, get that to fit, then make a real one out of tubing. that way, u can still have air easily flowing past ur engine, and give protection at the same time.
