I'm in need of new tires and I'm wondering what people would suggest for a hard packed banked clay oval. If at all possible, please provide the Tower Hobbies stock number.

Also, suggestions for a new motor are welcomed. I need both a modified and stock.

TIA!

small pins are what came stock and they arent holding so well in the turns.

Is there anything loose on the surface? We have a clay oval at my LHS, and most trucker use Pro-Line Strikers or the similar Duratrax on-road truck tires. They also use them outdoors, because the shop won't let people use spikes, but they'd rather use some kind of mini-pin tires.

What tires do other trucker use?

Here are the ones I'm considering:

Speed Hawg II

Road Hawg II

The Striker looks functional, but not very attractive =) Might hafta get a set and try em out though. On front I'm using the stock ribs, any suggestions there?

As for the other people, I have no idea yet. The first race is this Saturday and I practice at odd hours. Usually I've JUST missed the crowd or they haven't gotten there yet. Find out in a couple days assuming it isn't rained out, AGAIN.....

Most drivers have found those tires to cause the trucks to push on the clay, but I suppose that could be dialed out with some tuning. I don't know how any have fared on the dirt because I've never seen them used.

Call the shop and ask what tires other people are using.

I think I'm gonna just get em and try em, cuz I also run the thing on asphalt for fun. Worst case, they end up there.

Maybe try some Pro-line Roag rage tires.I have never even seen a clay oval before,so don't trust my on it.
