Can someone give me the specifics on how to use Black RIT dye to do my white nylon HPI touring car wheels?

I might be wrong here, but I didn't think nylon could be dyed by those fabric dyes.

Use a pot big enough to hold the parts you want to dye and one your not going to get into trouble for messing up. Fill the pot deep enough to cover the parts and bring water to a simmer (just below boiling) on the stove top. When the water's up to temp add in the dye and stir well. Add parts. Occasionally remove a part to check the color depth. When the parts are the desired color remove from the pot and rinse thoroughly in cold water.

Nylon and some plastic parts can be dyed in this fasion with fabric dye. Some take the dye better then others though.

Also, if you do not have a pot that you don't need, pour the boiling water into a metal bucket and add the dye, and just place the parts in the bucket. The parts will be dyed by the time the water cools.

Okay dudes... I went to my grandmothers house yesterday. I knew she had an insanely large collection of old pot and pans. Told her I needed something to dye parts in instead of using the wifes new T-Fal set.... she gave me an old pressure cooker that was missing the lid and gasket.... man that thing was sweet.. just what I was looking for.

Anyhow, I didn't know how much black RIT to use, so I used almost half of the box. I brought the dye and water to a boil and then took it off the burner. I let it sit a couple of minutes and then I dropped in my new set of HPI 5-spoke touring car rims (white). Anyhow, I stirred them around for about 10 minuts and took them out and washed them off and dried them.

They look perfect! Just like I bought them that way! Thank you guys for the help! :D
