Will a motor from a RC10GT with a short shaft fit in a Nitro sport?
Thanks

Hello everyone, Im new to this site but im wondering everyones opinion on this truck. How is the durability of it? Whats going to be the 1st thing to break? Im thinking of getting it for my nephew and didnt want him to have a ton of trouble with it. Whats everyones take on the electric start feature? Im an old school RCer where 1/8 scales you had a seperate starter to bump on the flywheel, that was a pain, the electric seems pretty nice and simple. Thanks in advance, Jeff

if you want aluminum suspenion arms and shock towers you can use the rustler suspenion arms and shock towers at www.neweramodels.com

Reply to Jeff-
I would ditch the electric starter and maybe upgrade to an all aluminum anodized chassis. mine used to have the stock EZ start and it took me forever to start it. I got the pull starter and it works so much better, starts on the first pull. And my engine is 3 1/2 years old!

Hey Jimbow where did you get the all aluminum chassis, i want one , and ae you still using the trx .15 motor for the 1 pull starts?
but yes the pull start is much better than the EZ-Start!

I have had my sport for 5 months now, after tons of bashing and many tanks of gas I have found some weak points. The car should be upgraded to a bellcrank stear system with a high torque steer servo. (you can mate a nitro rustler system to a nitro sport) The stock steer servo is very weak.
It might have been fluke but mine did'nt come with foam inserts in the tires. So tire wear was very rapid. Another awesome upgrade is to rip out all the bushings and put in bearings.(dirt is a killer on bushings)
This is a bullet proof truck you can drive it like you stole it and it keeps comming back for more. Its the best bang for the buck. its a good back yard player and with a few cheep upgrades it can be a fun racer:)
Good luck and have fun.

Well I took out my Nitro Sport today and remembered to bring a screwdriver to fine tune it since the weather has once again changed here in PA. I had her running great. Right up until I hit a telephone pole support wire and broke the front end. I broke the suspension arm, and shock. It seems like that is all. I would have cleared it but I was going uphill and the front end lifted off the ground and then the truck veared to the right, just like it was a magnet pulling it to it. Oh well. Maybe I will upgrade the parts. See what they cost. I also ripped my new tires from the rims on a roll wreck. So I put the origanal rears back on. I guess I got some work to do. But I had fun, till I crashed.

This is the body of the Electric Rustler a friend hook me up with.
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l70/psiturbo/Traxxas/Sport8.jpg
Some major mods on the body to give it a more sports look.
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l70/psiturbo/Traxxas/Sport.jpg
The metal shocks are from Kyosho. The plastic ones are worthless, the shock caps on the stockies tend to strip especially during very hard jumps or crashes. Besides, these ones are thicker and have a bit more travel.

Front shocks from the Kyosho, well worth the mod.
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l70/psiturbo/Traxxas/Sport4.jpg
Slipper clutch to protect the tranmission.
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l70/psiturbo/Traxxas/Sport3.jpg
Tuned pipe, much better top end and overall power than with the crappy stock one. This mod is a must to get the maximum performance out of the humble .15.
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l70/psiturbo/Traxxas/Sport5.jpg
The .15 is no power house engine, but for overall bashing is great. Mine is a single carb so imagine how old is this truck. Up to this day as long as you run it with 20% fresh fuel it runs like a champ. its very hard to make this engine run hot. It has overall power from bottom, mid and top end. The punch to the wheels is perfect for dirt, controllable and consistent.

People ask what do I think about this truck. Let me start to say I have a Revo 3.3, a Sportwerks Mayhem with an LRP .28 plus the Nitro Mini RS4 with the T-15.
Each car is unique; this truck likes to fly. I did a few jumps at half throttle and is so light it gets airborne on a dime plus it glides super cool. Compared to the REVO or the buggies that feel heavy and insanely powerful, this thing is so easy and nimble to make it do whatever you want.
Final notes: I did some testing the other day with a Picco .15 RC Speed and it would do wheelies on demand (impossible with the stock engine). The bad thing about having too much power is it makes it hard to drive provoking to many tail slides. With the stock Traxxas .15 power slides are easier to do plus you get to enjoy the truck more.

The rear tower could not hold up anymore after a 5 foot jump. I went to this construction site and had no mercy with it. The engine tends to run somewhat on the hot side, but nothing to worry about. Cant complain for a used Nitro Sport for $80.00.
