Has anyone on this board tried the Horizon Hobby Pro Boat Miss Budweiser? The boat (hydroplane) comes with a water cooled .16 w/pull start, is RTR, and sells for about $299.
They state the boat will go about 30mph.

Karl,I think it is pretty close to the 30 mph they claim. The only problem i have with mine is water in the boat.I read a post on here about the water coming from the engine and i think its true mine stalled at the pond and floated for about 15 minutes when i got it it was dry inside.I fired it up and ran about 5 laps and it started to slow down,Bought it to shore and it had water in it.Other than that i think it is a good deal and it sure is pretty when its aired out.Have fun.

There are a few of them turning up on eBay crashed. Auto bailers and flotation are common upgrades but I'd be tempted to drop a MAC 45 in one for grins. I'm building a tilt trailer for one this week. My customer has a T-maxx he wants to hook the trailer to for a car show. I'll have pictures soon if anyone is interested in adding a trailer for display let me know. chynes19@earthlink.net

The miss bud's are a great starter boat!.... you can find a real good review of the boats at:

http://www.intlwaters.com/articles/missbud/miss-bud1.htm

please keep this in mind..... if your afraid of anything breaking..... rc boating is not for you..... you will encounter some bumbs along the way...... but if you can roll with the punches you will find rc boating to be a great hobby!

speeds are more like 24-25mph on radar..... fast enough to be fun.... but you will likely want more speed soon after..... and it will be time for your second boat.... third boat.....

Charlie.....a mac 45! the boat would not be able to handle that kind of power..... if you put a whimpy .21 in there it MIGHT not blow up.... a big might

Sure it would!?!, a little more beef on the motormounts, a bigger drive shaft better strut/ rudder combo and bingo. The pipe may hang out a little farther that this version. I want one that really rips in the unlimited lights class at the races. If it blows over that's racing!! I also want 70cc twin gas quickdraw for my 45" Hoover sport hydro but then that is another beast.

I am new to rc boating myself. I have really enjoyed the boat but it does have a water problem. Add an autobailer will help and replace the boots. Once I put them in the boat is a lot more fun. I have a Traxxas 2.5 motor I am going to put in it this winter. - budguy
