I think it's around .6 hp. I knife-edged my con rod and did some light porting to open it up a little bit more. IMO its not as bad an engine as most make it out to be. On the other hand when it eventually dies I will be replacing it with something else.

What do you guys think of the M-16 from Megatech? The claim 1 plus hp from it and it sounds like the wicked angel boat with that motor runs pretty good. Its only ten bucks more than the dynamite. How do yo the Bud boat would run with this engine?Plus i think it would fit in the bud boat without any mods.

KG4- anything megatech is crap. while you're taking the time to get a new engine in, go ahead and get one that will make a performance diff.....use a OS .12 TR PT, Sirio .12, or similar high-performance .12 - you can get a decent buggy .12 engine from Tower Hobbies for around 150$, then just make sure it has an air flow passing over it. no water cooling to mess around with, and a 5-10mph increase in speed.

look into the 21's by CMB, MAC, Rossi these engines put out the power, 2.5-3 HP

Don't trust hp numbers. There is no established way of measuring hp so every company can do it thier own way. One may test with 0% nitro and another may test with 65%. One may be testing under load, one may be testing brake hp, one may be making calculations based on free rpm. Here's the same thing from Traxxas website:
"Traxxas does not publish a horsepower rating for the Pro .15. With all the variances between testing methods from one manufacturer to the next, the numbers are not true representations of engine power."
