does anyone know what a good price is for the cr-2 cells. a local place here has 2-packs of the 3 volt cells for 5 or 6 dollars, and the 6 volt cell for the same price. does that sound good? I'm thinking of trying these but want to find a good cheap charger first. thanks for any help.

CR 2's are not rechargable but give plenty of flying time depending on use. I use 3 with 1717 motor in a 4 oz. Stubenfliege and get around 2 hours flying time depending on throttle use. The cheapest I found them was thru Mr. Battery I believe around $4 a piece. WallMart sells 2 packs here in FL for around $10

thanks for the info, I guess I might have to pick some up and try them. you never know, that place marks stuff down all the time. I might go back in there and find them for a dollar. I do have one tidiran cell that was given me with a bunch of electronics stuff, it has stiff wires coming off each end and claims 3.6 volts, is that one recharge able? I also have a whole bunch of big capacitors I have been thinking of trying out as a power source for free flight or maybe motor power only for rc, any one else want to mess with a couple? I'll sort them and see axactly what I got and if any interest I'll post what I have. thanks.

I'm contimplating cracking opn my cell phone battery and getting my hands on some of these: http://www.ultralifebatteries.com Would be nice to use my cell phone to charge my pack.

How do keep them from exploding?
How many recharges have you accomplished successfully on one cell?
