Unfortunately I haven't been able to do much painting lately. No bodies, and no cash! Not to mention I haven't destroyed any bodies in a long time, until now. My NT body was a the point of destruction and I just happened to have a replacement lying around. I also just happened to have 10 or so bottles of Pactra racing finish, and some Alclad polished aluminum. On my last NT body I used my first lacquer(sp?) paints on the chrome didn't stick, not the Lexan compatiable stuff(I"ve got some now though) . So I figured I'd try out these new paints I got (picked them up from the LHS for a $1.50cdn a bottle!). Along with trying out the new paints I tried some Bob Dively's liquid mask, it was pretty good stuff too.

Ok, most of my story is done. I would give you mounted body pics, but my truck was broken at the time I painted this, and I hadn't mounted the wing yet.

Pretty cool colour, eh? See the sort of white curve in the blue, that was an accident that turned into a pretty cool effect, up close at least.

Polished aluminum. Didn't have chrome.

Here you can get a pretty good look at the gold flake "spikes" in the light. Since the metal flake is transparent with flakes floating in it I could add the main body colour behind it to make the gold more subtle.

I think this is a pretty cool pic.

Colours used.
Pactra racing finish: Pearl copper, Pearl coral, Grand Prix Gold, Metal flake gold, Pearl white, and acrylic Pearl silver for backing/window trim.
AlcladII Polished Aluminum.

So, let me know what you think. I've been waiting to post this for a while, and I finally have.

And of course, here's to hoping the pics work!

Thats really cool, you can really see the "sparkles" in the third picture. Another thing I think is really really cool: the "polished aluminum" on the bulge for the pipe! Good work
