Hot on the heels of word that Kyosho is releasing a new shaft-drive competition touring car, there’s now word that they’ll also be releasing an “Evolution” edition of the V-One-RR machine. The new Evolution drops the center-mounted steering servo in favor of a laydown servo and a single centrally-located bellcrank with a built-in servo saver. A new lower chassis plate with beveled sides and a new woven graphite upper deck are included.
A new two-speed transmission also looks to be part of the Evo package, the primarly benefit of which appears to be finer pitch 0.8 module gears. The finer pitch of the gears makes the car run more smoothly and it allows for finer ratio changes. A front one-way differential is shown as being included.
New bulkheads and suspension arms also appear to be part of the package, but there’s no information concerning the changes to these and other miscellaneous components. We’ll post more information as it becomes available.

I don't know. I can only guess that the parts shown in the part picture are the ones that are changed, but I don't have any specific information about the car. I won't know until we have more solid information.

Because we will race the European championship this week in Portugal,we have already receive some Evo kit to transform a VoneRR up to an EVO RR.
There's very interestings pics on this link. It presents the car of one top french Kyosho driver just before he leave France to Portugal.

then : MATOS
then : 1/10 touring

Judging from those pics (thanks, romuald31!) the front upper arm mount is separate from the front bulkheads. Interesting.

I bought an RR and the evo conversion kit two weeks ago. Still looking for some kyosho hop-ups so I can put it together. Anybody have any ideas?? (and no tower doesn't carry nor do they intend to) Hope the new gears last like the old ones. The old ones wore like iron.

You don't really need to add anthing else to the car. It's already got the front one-way and a Centax clutch, etc. It runs fine just as it is. The chassis included with the Evolution conversion is the optional 4mm milled aluminum chassis, and a graphite upper deck, both of which would be options even for the Evolution car kit. The chassis plates are not standard in any kit other than the conversion. About the only thing I might add to the car is a set of Kawahara pulleys, and maybe the thick graphte shock towers.

Thanks Steve,
I knew about the chassis and top plate, that's why I went the route I did instead of buying the evo kit. I'm not one to keep taking it apart. Like to put things I want in it when I build it. Like to get the VSW024V (the stock ones weigh a ton) The Ti jack shafts and hinge pins. I'm happy with the plastic pulleys they seem to hold up OK as long as I only run at the track.
If anyone knows how to get this stuff I'm sure you do

Looks like they used some 1/8th scale technology

Wow, its taken a long time for it to come out stateside. I mean, there is like 3 or 4 here in Hawaii, but all came on a plane with this guy that went on a trip to Japan... but that was around month and a half ago... maybe more.
They perform way better than before. They transition better, the new bell-crank steering increases steering all the way around because most people find that they don't always have enough steering with the R and RR... now it steers better.
The conversion kit is something like 140 bucks or so. Everyone here loves it.
I believe there are new bulkheads, arms, upper and lower chassis, rear diff, new one-way, rear hubs, bellcrank steering plus other little things. Basically the suspension difference is that the arms are longer for better handling, especially when things get slicker. To do this, they had to make the bulkheads a little skinnier and do somethings to the rear diff and front one-way.
Seeing as I'm a Mugen guy, I'm not positive about everything I said, but just trying to relay the info I've gathered from the other racers I race with. Everyone of the loves the new Evo much better.

The only thing different about the back end is the two speed gears. The rear dif. and a arms are still the same. I dont think mine will see the track this year. After about six weeks of trying to find parts without any luck. In the closet it will go.
