What is your opinion of this Motor, or just the Graupner brand in gereral??? Also, what would be an engine of equal or better power with the same or less weight? Thanks in advance!

I live in Las Cruces, NM and the altitude is around 3700 ft. Stock 280 motors just don't cut it at this altitude. I bought a speed 300 motor from "Hobby Lobby" (listed in the vendor links). They said it had 3 times the power at just slightly more weight. It is .2mm larger in diameter than a standard 280 motor, but 15 minutes with some sandpaper made my plastic gear reduction case fit just fine. The shaft was the standard 2mm and my pinion fit perfectly. After installing this new motor with the supplied gear reduction unit back into my Northeast Sailplanes "Virus", Wow!! It was like a different airplane. My Virus will climb "out of sight" in a few short minutes if I'm not careful on just 3/4 throttle. I'm pretty sure the motor was under $20 dollars and a bargain at the price. Hope this helps.
