I can just imagine a 1/10 truck going at 70 on the highway oh the look on people's faces. :D

umm, why?
A truck that fast can't turn off-road at 70 mph. And if you hit a jump at that speed, you'd never see it again, and when you did find it, it would look more like a kit than a RTR.

i doubt it's going to handle very well, and 500 dollars for that much i can stuff a .21 in a Nitro MT, if the price goes down maybe, but i think this thing is gonna be somewhat of a ripoff...

70+mph sound's too much like a fantasy, I doubt it will be off-road, this will be a stadium truck at the most.

Well, it's essentially a 4WD ST much like the HPI what ever it's called MT something...

ah but then again what people fail to realize, IT is a Schumacher, it could be much like the fusion, we'll never know until we can try it out.

And it looks like a modified XTR...that one goes fast as hell...
You can clearly see that the truck is based off the Fusion drivetrain and this would also give the truck the gearing options from the Fusion. The Fusion was just reviewed in the latest Car Action "Touring Car" edition and was clocked at 73mph. If this truck runs the same gearing as the Fusion with its larger tires, then I see no reason why those speeds wont be reached....Obviously those speeds are done on-road, but it will still be the fastest truck on or off-road:D :D

Hi Guys, I'm Adrian from Schuamcher USA.
mugenseike - Speed Question: 2 weeks ago Schu UK took the Menace 21 to a dragstrip. They don't have a radar gun that can accuratly capture our cars at speed (readings fluctuate too much) so they ran the Menace alongside a real car with the guy running the menace in the passenger seat (please don't try this at home). With 70mph on the speedometer the Menace easily could pull ahead of the test car. Given the speedo error most cars have we feel secure that 70mph is possible.
TitansGT4 - I'm not sure if anyone makes a .21 kit for the HPI Nitro MT but with kit and motor it will certainly cost more than $429.99 w/o the radio. The most important thing to consider is that the Menace was designed to have a .21 in it from day one. It is not small block nitro kit with a big block shoehorned into it. The Fusion 21 has been out for almost a year now and you never hear about drive train durability issues. The Menace will be the same.
moorerc - I totally agree...70mph off road is a bad idea...but...this is America! Land of big block Chevys and Dodge Hemis. There is no such thing as too much power! Every transmitter I have ever owned had a trigger that allows you to have throttle control between on and off. Buyers of the Menace will certainly have to use this feature of transmitters.
With regards to handling...all the testers so far say it runs like a little a 1/8th buggy. It uses standard 2.2" truck tires whick are almost as big as 1/8th tires. Just don't expect it (or any other car) to make a 180 at the end of a straight with the throttle pinned!
Just in case you guys don't get it my sense of humor works its way into everything. Don't take anything I say personally...Later!

The first Menace SHOULD roll off the line at the end of this month. We will have them in the US 4-5 business days later.
If you want one call your local hobby shop ASAP. The response to this kit has been staggering so far. A lot of shops wanted to get in line for this kit early and there are a lot of advance orders already.

I think that is the best looking RTR body shells I've seen so far...
Hmm...I want one...it will have to go after the TXT-1, EK-4, RC10L3 and RC10B4 I'm planning on...hope you will still be making the kit in about 1½ years... :D

Anyone who buys this truck will definitely have bragging rights......right up until that truck hits the slightest bump at that speed and the only way you'll be picking that truck up is with a shovel! And that's provided air doesn't get trapped under the body and lift it first! 400 bucks....down the toilet. I'll pass, thank you very much.
Why don't you tell us how you really feel there rc jack....LOL
Honestly though, that’s really an ignorant statement on your part. You might want to read AdrianM's post about throttle control and handling. If we all lived by your philosophy, life would most certainly be pretty freakin boring.....
I guess everyone of us who has crashed our R/C cars and smashed it up is just flushing money down the toilet...

And if we all lived by your philosophy, these companies would be "laughing all the way to the bank" and we'd all be broke. Maybe, there's a middle ground here......YOU buy it.......I'll pass.

Wow Mr. Jack you sound like one of those old men at the retirement home that hasn't had his jello yet. Chill man. Don't be spoiling a nice idea. You and I can laugh at the idiots who try to make their 400 dollar truck hit the jump at 70, but then I get to laugh at you when Dubs here takes his jumps seriously (hehe 60 mabye??) and then blows the door off your Lincoln Towncar.
Sorry man, I just hadta do that after the most wonderful Adrian spoke his wonderful words of throttle happieness.

How do they have performance tests, but no pictures of the chassis? I mean, the actual chassis, not cad drawings.
Hey possum....Checkout this month's issue of Car Action! They did a "First Look" article with pics of the actual truck. All the suspension will be up dated for production, but you can get the basics from the pics.

To expensive for my blood, But wow a 3 speed tranny that would be a contest in its own to see who could get to third gear on a track, especially mine...
Me neither possum....LOL
A buddy of mine got his and he told me about it....;)
Oh yeah, it will be way over powered for a std R/C track, but thats why its going to be so awesome....The local BMX track is calling my name already:D
