I just got my explorer II and speed gems 2 17X2 from tower. I have some questions.
1) Break in instructions for my motor say that I need to use 2-3 drops of break in drops on my brushes. I don't have any. Is there a substitute I can use? Are they necesary? IT says that the drops "greatly reduce break-in time.
2) My motor says I need to break it in using 3-4 cells. Can I just rig up some 1.2 volt C or D dry cell batteries?
3) On the transmitter adjustment part of the instructions on my esc, it says to set exponential to zero setting. What is that?
4) What is the electronic trigger throw adjustment?
5) What is the mexhanicl trigger throw adjustment? (4 and 5 are referring to transmitter adjustment.)
6) I previously had an msc. are there any adjustments I need to make anywhere?
thanks so much for answering my questions.

i can only answer one of those questions... u might want to get bearing oil, as those motors may have been on a shelf for a long time, when breaking in, oil is helpful although not needed. Basically just plug the motor into ur esc, dont connect the motor to anything though : pinion, car, etc. hold the throttle at 1/3 speed and run for as long as it takes to break teh brushes in. Also, if u get lazy like me, just set the throttle trim so that u dont have to move the trigger to get throttle, then i can just walk away. But you should check on the brushes every 15 mins to see how its going. :) have fun, esc's have more runtime and im sure ur alpha should be fun now that u have a new motor.

sont worry about these adjustments if your transmiter doesnt have them. just make sure that the trim is neutral.
