Just painted me new beast
How long does it take before I can safely use my car. Its in the garden sunning it up at the moment.

depending on what kind of paints you used I'd say between 2 and 3 days

Few people know this but sunlight or any other form of UV radiation can severely weaken polycarbonate over a prolonged period of time. It tends to be more brittle and will crack alot easier. (I'm not saying avoid driving outside, but just avoid any unnessecary exposure to the sun.)
My bodies will usually dry within the hour and I let them sit for at least 12 hours to let them completely cure depending on the humidity.
