hey guys,
i just noticed they make this rotostart for the maxx also...do they make them for other as well>>>??
i was thinking about them and couldnt you just buy the backplate and a dogbone a use your drill to start your truck..instead of paying $40-$50 for the whole kit just buy the back plate for like $13 and use your drill and a dog bone???

I have a roto-start for my Savage. In fact I just put it in yesterday (easy install). I tried the drill that it came with, but the battery that I got for it was bad. So I tried my Black and Decker drill, and it didn't turn the engine fast enough, even in the High Speed mode. I've also heard of people doing this but breaking the gear inside the roto-start itself, because the roto-start drill has a "clutch" system that if it feels too much pull on it, it gives. Where if you don't have a "clutch" system on your drill it will just rip up the gear. If you are using your own drill then set it to the "lightest" clutch steeing you have, and start slowly just to be sure.
Good luck with it. My five blisters on my right hand's middle finger thank me every time I crank it up!

So you are happy with the Roto Start? It works well? I have yet to see an "after install" real world review on it.

I haven't seen a review on it, but I've read that people are happy with it. I love mine.......
