I am interested to if anyone else has cut their chevron or 'other' tires to get a custom pattern. I had some spare cheap tires laying around(picked them up for $5 a pair!) and removed some material to make them a little softer, and increase traction somewhat. I tried a few patterns on test tire, and finally came up with the one you see. It took me ~ 2 hrs with an exacto knife.Does anyone else do this?

i just rounded the corners off my TC tires to decrease the possibility or a traction roll...

Try using a dremel with 2 cutoff wheels to make nice slotted cuts in tires, I did my Maxx tires a while back and it worked great. The smell was pretty bad but it was worth it.

:( However I broke it about 2 weeks ago, and haven't had the time to grab another one.

Clod tires would probably take ~3 hours + give me arthritis:). If I had a working dremel I'd do it fairly cheaply, but by hand it would take too long.
BTW here's a few of the other treads on my 'test tire'

ehh.. thats barley cutting them.

Here is an old set of stock t-maxx tires I used to run. Every other trad bar on one pair and half of every other bar cut off on the other pair.

and another set of stock cut maxx tires on my e-maxx that I parted out some time ago.

I'm cutting a really wacky pattern on my Clod now. The fronts should be done by the weekend.
