hey..id like to pick up the most durable MT thats available for around 300 dollars. i would really like a 1/8 scale or a 1/10 w/ large tires. what are my options? i still want everything every MT'r wants, jumping, speed, accel, and handling, but i will only be bashing, jumping, and crawling/climbing. give me your opinions, and durability is a big issue.

oh, and it has to be RTR. ive already read a ton of the two main contenders, the traxxas and savage..and i dont know if they are what im looking for. im open to anything, from the dirt devil to the cen fun factor. im just looking for the best buy for the money.

the fun factor seems to be a capable little truck... also look at the stampede, megatech gladiator, and perhaps somehting like the mad bison

i heard nothing but good things about the mad bison...But for that price you can get a savage or a tmaxx..

I am a new owner of a CEN Fun Factor MT2, and aside from a few problems I really like the truck.

Problems/Dislikes:

-Radio had a transmitter range of about 20 feet out of the box
-Stripped a spur gear after three days
-Broke an outdrive after three days
-Link between air filter and motor had a rip in it from factory (cheap fix though)
-No foam for the tires (if you do get the MT2 pick up some from your LHS for $6.00 - $8.00, it will make a world of difference)
-Parts must be mail ordered
-Phillips head screws instead of allen/hex head

Things I like:

-Bad radio allowed me to go buy a JR XR2i :D
-Chassis layout is very simple and buggy like
-Truck is very fast (45+ out of the box)
-Truck handles very well, less roll over than a T-Maxx
-Engine has been easy to break in and tune
-Aside from the two parts that I broke it looks to be very durable
-Very versitile truck, can be set up as a staduim truck or MT with very few parts swaping (so if you want to race ST or MT you can)
-Price $279.99

There are a lot of MT's out there. I picked the MT2 because of low price and word of mouth being good on the truck. It all depends on what you want in a MT. The CEN is fun, fast and can bash with the best of them. The lack of parts availablity can be a turn off for some, because all trucks will break at some point in time. If you have a back up no big deal, if you don't it can be.

Yeah, the only MT in the 300 range is the SportMaxx, and I wouldn't get that if it was on sale for 200...

You cant beat the Ofna Dominator RTR at Nitro House for $350!!! They wont sell me one cuz I live in Canada, but hey, maybe if I advertise for them they will cut me a break.

Buy a used dominator or EMaxx... both have incredible torque. Great for bashing

i think you cna find a terra crusher for around $380 new. . . but then youd need to upgrade the engine. . .
