Hey guys,
haven't had an update from anyone lately so I thought I would ask whazzzzzz up?
Ron,
How did the races go?? I know you were handling duties, but did you and you son have a good time? How did he do in the races???
Hey Brushless,
What's the latest on the boat man? Any idea of when it's going to see water? I know you were still waiting on the painter.
Double,
Hey dog, hows that baby and momma doing? She sleeping at all through the night? Did you get your Cooper quite yet or is that still to fresh. I know you were talking about pulling your decals off the boat. Make any decision on that yet? If you do post some pics. Hey man, do you have to repolish your drive and rudder after using the boat? My drive and a little bit of the rudder have like a haze where the water line is.
Did you all check out the video I got posted in my "finally sees action" thread? I'm needin feedback fellas. I gutted the can last night and am going to see if it helps at all.
BTW, I have a new addition to my family as well now. Not near as beautiful as double's girl, but lovable none the less..... Let me intoduce you to................ .........

Had to come back and ask how the kids like Fred?
Now for the next: How does the 'wife' like Fred? lmao.
That mug would be cool to have messing around the house. My buddy Leroy is cool too. He goes out drinking all night and then he'll come sit on my stomach and yell wanting some breakfast so he can head off to sleep his hangover off.
Reminds me of when I was much younger and we'd party all night and then head to Denny's at 4am then get home just about the time the sun was coming up. LOL

Saw the video, saw the roost in the turn on the start of the video. Straight up 4 or 5 feet. Would love to hear it too. Was that a small pond or something. Didn't see much speed there, or were you breaking in the engine?
MORE! was to short, want to see more video with sound. :D

Actually Double he's an Albino Ferret. Extremely cool!!!!! However he is a saucy little biotch. Especially after sharing a Captian or two. Nothing worse than a mean drunk ferret! Last night about 2am felt somethng under the covers, then.... CHOMP! right on my toe. Funny thing............ I didn't know ferrets could fly! he looked like rocky with Bullwinkle nowhere in sight ! :D :p :D :p :D :p :D :p
Hey Flyer, I can't get sound. I can only get a 15 sec clip from the digital cam. Actually it is a small pond right off the back of my house but big enough to test. Actually right now I'm gpsing @ 27. But I gutted the can and did some othe rmods so we'll see tomorrow when I can run in the am. (florida showers right now in the pm:mad: )

Sorry, I just saw the thread. I spent 7 days in Milford working at the Internats. The weather went from hot and humid to nasty with high winds and rain. 12 hour days at the pond most of the time then head back to the cabin to burn dinner, take a shower and do laundry. Suck down some Fuzzy Buddies after racing and go back at it the next day slightly hung-over. I did pit bossd duties and assisted with that, drove the retrieve boat, a lot on the windy days and handed out T-shirts among other jobs.
We stayed at the campground in a hovel that they called a cabin. A porta-potty about 200 feet away up a steep hill, no running water, I had to go across the park to get what we needed. What the cabin was was a 1 car garage basically with 6 crummy cots. I took an inflatable queen-sized bed to toss on the floor so I slept pretty good. An attachment on the front had a small fridge that did keep the Beer and pop cold and a 2-burner electric stove.
I've got 4 rolls worth of pix on CD-ROM, 50 minutes of videotape and a hundred stories. I'm whooped but would do it again in a minute. I've met some great people that you only read about in the magazines and some complete, to be kind, Anuses.
Eric's boat didn't do too well, the conditions were way different from 135 miles away from home so we couldn't get the boat dialed in like we liked to. I did win the "Junkyard Wars" event with fastest boat and Ernie LeFleur got furthest distance. We got a bag with some pieces of wood and had to make a rubber-band powered boat (basically an outrigger hydro). We could only use what parts that was in the bag and no more with the exception of glue and markers to paint our creations with. Put a Kids toy in the hands of some of the best racers in the World and you get some interesting little boats. High-tech sponsons, lubed rubber-bands, recurved props were some of the tricks. I spent about 45 minutes building mine while it looked like some racers were up all night tricking theirs out.
A few racers brought some of their new boat designs with them to show off, Phil Thomas with a new Sport 20 hull that is way cool and Mike "Grimracer" Zoborowski had 2 new "Wild Thing" kits, one a .21 and a .12- sized kit.
If you want to see anything in particular, ask and I'll see if I have a shot of it.

Man Ron sounds like a blast! Shame you couldn't get erics boat dialed in. i know you were looking for a little "redemption". Funny how that kind of distance can affect what you've been tuning to.
post some pics when you can man, especially if you have any of your "creation". hehehe and welcome home.
Hey Double here are two of my other babys. a 130 lb. Dane I call Diamond and my lab / chow mutt Harley who I saved at 9 days old, He fit in the palm of my hand. One loyal little dude tho!:D

Lovinnitro, you would get a long with my buddy that did the CAD work on our Hammerhead .12 kit. He has 3 of those monsters in his backyard!
I will add some pix in here once in a while. They are a paint to put in because of the program that I have in this POS 'puter. There are some other pix in http://fordmodelboatclub.com . Click on the "Internats" icon then go to the pictures area. In the 4th shot, that's me driving the retrieve boat. I was burning my "plucked chicken" legs that day.
How about a shot from the retrieve boat?

Enjoyed the photos Ron.
That looked like a great place. Good access from all angles, but no protection from the wind.
Hook me up with a t-shirt. Paypal?

The site had some wind protection. This shot was looking Southeast. The pond sat kind of low with a lot of trees to the West but with 35-40 MPH winds it still got rough.
The club is supposed to be getting more T-shirts made. I was handing them out and couldn't get one! My son got one because he raced and had it autographed by former Unlimited Hydro driver Mark Tate who showed up to watch some action.

35-40 mph winds.... Sounds like some gas boat fun!
What-da ya' say Wakeballs?:D

There were some Gas boats there but they didn't let them run because it was a Nitro only event. The guy running the consession stand brought his Gasser and fired it up under the big tent to rattle some cages!:D This wasn't it, he had an Aeromarine Cat.

Those are some nice boats. What kind of waves was the wind kicking up Ron? I kow it' snot perfect for racing conditions but sounds like a lot of fun to play in.

Nah, I wish that is was. It belongs to Bob Finn from Texas. We both have K-45 engines so we talked a lot about them. I've blown mine up twice and his was trouble free. I talked to him the other night on Jim's R/C Boat Dock in the chat room and found out that he blew his up later that day also!
How about another pic?

ron, have you tried adding a little more castor to your fuel for that K motor? i hear the kalistratov motors can be finicky when run lean. i've got a mac 45 in a hydro and it's got loads of speed, but not super friendly as far as driveability and setting the needle is touchy with the stock carb.

i'll be about an hour north of Saginaw in the small town of Gladwin, Mi.
I prolly be moving there in a year or so.

You'll be in a good area for boat racing. Saginaw has a great race that they put on every year. The Ford Model Boat Club holds their races in Milford at Camp Dearborn (I'm a new member of that Club). you also have the Oakland/Wolverine MBC in Rochester Hills (near Madonna's childhood home) and the Transom Twisters that run in Warren at the GM Tech Center.
Let me know when you make the move and maybe I'll run into you at a race. A good bunch of people up here.

Finding a job and selling my caddy are the only things keeping me from moving. Find a buyer and a job and I'm there.
and in theGladwin area there are tons of lakes to choose from :)
