I just got finished with my latest project, a Clod rockcrawler. I bought the kit, built it and then tore it apart. I hand made a new chassis and 4-link suspension, along with new servo mounts on the axles. The whole project only took me a week and a half or so, from first design to completion. I had been using the stock MSC for past few days, but yesterday a friend of mine gave me a Rooster ESC, so now it is much easier to drive. Any comments and suggestion would be appreciated.

Pic#2
My goal when I built the truck was to have at least 90 degrees of flex....I think I succeded:D

willit even pull otu of that position? ou should sinstall some kind of a limiter to stop it at about 89 degrees, becuase fi half the weight fo your ehicls is tellign ti to flip and the other half isnt level, its probabllg gonna flip... also, that will allow any given wheel to get stuck in any lagre crack or crevice. . . it wont be able to crawl out. . . because instead of foreward propulsion youll get left or right propulsion, not to mention that thats gotta be hell on your linkages. . .
get us a picture of the front right nad bakc left up on somehting, that makes it easier to see if tis a worthy setup. . .

Actually, when it's in a position like that, if I just hit the gas, it wil just flop back down on to all four wheels....hasn't flipped yet. Here's the pic you requested. That's not quite full flex, but I didn't feel like getting more stuff to put under it. Thanks for the comments!

ok. . . disreguard my last post... its easier to see the benefits of articulation when you see it articulating, not flipped over. . . i dont think a body would let it flex that much, and make sure your suspension is stiff enough to allow enough articulation, but not let a stray wheel fall down between two rocks...

Dragger-I checked out that body and it looks nice, but I think it may be a little short--my truck is 16 in. from axle to axle.
Would anyone know of an even longer body??

Go to www.prolineracing.com they have 2 bodys that are made for 13-15'' wheelbase trucks, thats the best I can think of.

Well I just got some aluminum shocks on the Creep, along with a Super Rooster. I also built a battery tray and made the 4-links stronger. I am waiting for a new radio to arrive so I can put the JR I'm using now back in the Bruiser. The two sticks are getting kind of annoying(throttle doesnt return to center). I also bought an HPI Bronco body, but after looking at it for awhile, I figured it just wouldn't work because I'd have to cut half of the hood and rear end away to alow articulation. I think I'm going to return it and get a buggy body I saw the fit the weird shape of the chassis perfectly, and didn't interfere with suspension movement.

Time for an update! I got the buggy body I was looking at a long time ago and got it mounted. No paint yet, as it's too cold. I have been driving the truck alot lately, as I broke my Storm's chassis. I knew the stock clods floated, so I decided to test mine and even with the metal chassis, it still floats. Now I can drive across my creek and up the rocks on the other other side:D
I also finally got some videos posted on ******.

Good job...looks like it drives nicely. Also noted very little axle articulation steer, a sign that your four-links are well positioned and proportioned.

I have so many clods and none of them have even close to that much articulation on them. The highest that my clod with the best articulation can go is just under the height of a regular clod.
Here are most of my clods. Some of the other rcs are mine and not all the clods are mine.

that thing is sick...that takes some time and thought. Its a nice rig. I think you should just get the extended maxx body and put some restictors in that bad boy...i would love to see that thing go over stuff...it has almost too much articulation....lol...if there ever was such a thing

Thanks everyone! I will try to get some more vids tomorrow. I really wanted to put a normal truck body on, but I couldn't find one that was long enough and not require too much hacking away at.
BCat15-I love those trucks, especially the Bearfoot on the top row, along with the Mounty near the bottom.
Keep 'em coming everybody!
