I do not personally own one, but I would say that it IS a good beginner boat as long as you have calm water to run it in. For only $300, you get a beautiful fiberglass boat, pull start motor, tuned pipe, all built with radio installed.
If your pond is choppy, the hydroplane will not work as well as a deep vee. OH, the miss bud should do 30 MPH out of the crate.

that is generally a true statement. most hydroplanes do not mix well with chop. I am very impressed with the stability of miss bud in rough water. (not 1 ft. white caps!!!! just a little chop) it also isn't scared of wind. that boat holds the water very well... I think it is a great beginners boat... I am a beginner and it hasn't treated me bad yet... It will show its tail end a couple of times and get you frustrated but it will teach you allot!!!!!!
search the forum for modifications. there is allot of nit-picky stuff that pro-boat drooped the ball on when building this one. HINT HINT (radio box!!!!) oh I would start looking for a place to buy a octura Y 535 cause I don't know about anyone else but those plastic props did not last long for me. they should send about 10 of them with the boat.... Other than that have fun. I made the same jump from a electric hydro to miss bud.
and get a good method for retrieving boats. b/c you will be doing it allot for the first couple of weeks!!!!
I love mine,I got it dialed in pretty good.It does get some water in it but an auto bailer will take care of that and it is pretty fast for a $300.00 boat.I would buy another one if i had to.Remember to have fun thats what it is all about.
